We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ariana Weatherspoon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ariana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope that my legacy will be a positive one. Filled with an impact on various people in the world, I would like to be able to say that I impacted and helped people from all walks of life. I would like to be able to say that I actually helped someone change their life. I would like to be able to say that I broke generational curses for my family and created generational wealth. That I created the life my son deserved. That’s what I want my legacy to be.

Ariana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So, I’ve always wanted to be a model since I was a child but imposter syndrome had me thinking I couldn’t pursue it up until last year when my friend Charmel asked me to be her opening act as a model for her hair show.
Since then, I’ve done various modeling things but my biggest accomplishment for me so far is modeling with the Lip Bar. They’re great. I was one of the faces for their Rich Auntie campaign, I also participated in their launch of their new shades of concealers and tinted skin. And more to come.
I think what sets me apart from others, I literally have not only the look and the face but the personality. The passion for it. I have it all. They don’t call me Ari the Barbie for no reason.
if you would like to keep up with me or are interested in booking me for a photoshoot for your brand, or any other inquiries I would recommend following my Instagram @arianajanae where you can find my contact information and also keep up with me.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Post, post, post. Promote yourself. Everywhere. Boost your Instagram posts, boost your TikTok’s, boost your Facebook pages. Pay for the marketing. It’s worth it. Do not be afraid to get on peoples nerves with your promotion of whatever it is you’re promoting. Whether it’s yourself, a business, whatever. Make sure you’re seen.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When I first started modeling I definitely thought it would be easier just because it looks super easy. And not that it’s extremely hard, but it definitely takes way more work and you really have to take time behind the scenes to know your angles, what lighting works the best for you, work on poses, work on your walk. Everything.
