Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ariana Kaufman . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ariana , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

When I watch home videos of my childhood it seems apparent that I would choose an artistic path. I was always putting on plays for my family before dinner, doing impressions of my favorite actors, dressing up as different characters, etc..

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Ariana Kaufman and I was born and raised in Nashville, TN. When I was 18 I moved out to Los Angeles to pursue acting and went on to study method acting, which helped me in more ways than I can write down. The art I make is an acquired taste. I like to feel an energy come out of my skin that I try to capture in my videos. Mostly, I focus on making art that touches me the instant it lands in my body. Some days I want to dance and others I want to make a stop-motion video. I think everyone is unique and has something special and we are all set apart from each other because of that energetic difference.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

When I was in my 20’s I thought I had to prove that I belonged as an artist, but now I know I belong because I just can’t seem to help but make art. I now know we do not have to validate or prove ourselves to others. Just keep on keeping’ on.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

I think some people think you have to be famous to be a great artist, but most of us are not or will not become famous and that shouldn’t be the goal .
