We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ariana Emnace a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
There have been so many! I would say though, recently I had the privilege of filming a video with some awesome creatives and friends of mine. We shot this piece on Skid Row in DTLA. It basically captures “The Real Los Angeles”.. not the perfect, dreamy, Hollywood version. This film is about finding the beauty in everyday life, in everything, in everywhere. That beauty is about perspective and appreciating the beauty in chaos and rawness of life and unexpected events and circumstances. It’s a unique little film where I’m performing ballet in the middle of the after with a beautiful classic 1946 Chevrolet and the people of Skid Row in the background. There’s so many layers in this piece and it represents so much of myself and the real Los Angeles. There’s so many feels. I’m really proud of this one.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started dance at the age of 4 years old. At the age of 8 years old was when I decided to pursue dance as a career. Specifically ballet. My first ballet company I was a paid apprentice! From then on I competed in classical ballet competitions such as YAGP, Spotlight and Tanzolymp. Performed with many ballet companies, traveled to and lived in other states and countries for ballet. Have been with my agency, Bloc Talent Agency, now for about 14 years working for them under Dance and Print. Which has brought me so many incredible opportunities such as filming and performing with major artists like The Script, Pharrell, Brent Faiyaz, and The Backstreet Boys. I’ve had so many incredible opportunities and amazing experiences. I now have the pleasure of being a ballet teacher at a studio in Temple City.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Honestly, continuing to express myself fully as my most true and authentic self, fulling my purpose in this lifetime.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to work with other amazing and incredibly talented creatives and artists. Creating unique, impactful and beautifully artistic pieces. Being able to share my God-given talent and using it to the fullest.
