We recently connected with Ariana Cheatham and have shared our conversation below.
Ariana , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Investing in myself was undoubtedly the best decision I made. It started with a fundamental shift in my mindset. Recognizing my mindset’s pivotal role in determining my success, I dedicated myself to adopting a growth-oriented perspective. Rather than viewing failures as setbacks, I embraced them as opportunities for growth and learning. Challenges ceased as obstacles but became stepping stones towards my personal and professional development.
Identifying areas for improvement was the next crucial step. I acknowledged the need to enhance my leadership, communication, and marketing skills. Taking proactive measures, I enrolled in classes at WCC and actively sought mentorship from seasoned industry experts. Their guidance proved invaluable in refining my abilities and shaping my entrepreneurial journey.
Understanding the significance of networking, I immersed myself in various online and in-person events. Leveraging social media platforms, I forged connections with like-minded individuals and established a robust network of peers and mentors. Through these connections, I gained valuable insights, received support, and formed strategic partnerships that propelled my net and personal growth forward.
Recognizing the power of personal branding, I undertook a comprehensive overhaul of my online presence. From revamping my newsletter and website to optimizing my LinkedIn profile, I ensured that my digital footprint authentically reflected my values and expertise. I solidified my position as a trusted authority by consistently sharing valuable content pertinent to my industry.
Prioritizing my well-being was non-negotiable. I understood that sustainable success necessitated a healthy work-life balance. Thus, I conscientiously carved out time for new hobbies, regular exercise, and moments of relaxation. Not only did this practice rejuvenate my physical and mental faculties, but it also heightened my productivity and fostered creativity in my business endeavors.
By investing in myself, I not only transformed my mindset and foundation for sustained personal and professional growth. Through continuous learning, strategic networking, and a steadfast commitment to well-being, I navigated the path to success with resilience and purpose.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey into the food industry began with a deep-seated love for all things gastronomic. From an early age, I found myself drawn to the magic of the kitchen and fascinated by all the flavors and the artistry of plating.
Driven by my culinary curiosity, I started on a path of exploration, honing my skills through hands-on experience and formal training. Along the way, I’ve worked alongside talented chefs, soaking up knowledge and inspiration from every kitchen I’ve stepped foot in.
At the heart of my creative endeavors lies a commitment to celebrating the richness and diversity of food culture. Through my writing, I strive to capture the essence of culinary experiences, weaving together stories that evoke the sensory delights of well-crafted dishes or the earth of a shared meal.
As the founder of my food-focused newsletter, I’ve cultivated a space where fellow food enthusiasts can gather to indulge in culinary tales, recipe inspiration, and industry insights.
In addition to my digital presence, I’m excited to announce that I am slowly working on a printed copy for my newsletter! Through meticulously curated content and stunning visuals, I aim to offer readers a tactile experience that ignites their passion for food-related.
What truly sets me apart in the food industry is my unwavering dedication to authenticity and inclusivity. Food has the power to transcend cultural boundaries and foster connections between people from all walks of life. Whether through my writing or culinary creations, I strive to celebrate diversity and amplify voices often marginalized in mainstream food discourse.
I’m incredibly proud of the community that has rallied around my work, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with others. My brand is built on a foundation of hospitality, warmth, and a genuine love for good food.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to evoke emotions and spark connections through my work. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that my creations can resonate with others on a deeply personal level, whether through a piece of art, a written story, or a dish that was created.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Pivoting is an integral part of growth and adaptation. When faced with a shift in circumstances, whether in business, career, or life, it’s essential to approach it with a flexible mindset. Rather than seeing it as a setback, pivoting is an opportunity for exploration and innovation. It’s a chance to reassess my goals, leverage my existing skills, and embrace new opportunities that align with my evolving interests and aspirations. Ultimately, pivoting allows me to navigate change with resilience and optimism, paving the way for continued growth and success.
