We were lucky to catch up with Ariadni Kidonis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ariadni , appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I was born in Peru, a beautiful country rich in culture and history. However, at 15, I realized the limited opportunities for artists and creative professionals there. Determined to pursue my dreams, I made the decision to move to Los Angeles with my mom.
A year later, my mother fell ill and had to return to Peru. Despite being just 16 years old, I convinced her to let me stay in LA to chase my music career. This period was incredibly challenging – my mother was hospitalized, and for a while, I couldn’t even communicate with her. I had little money, no job and no concrete plan, but I was driven by my passion and the desire to make my supporters, especially my mother, proud.
Through perseverance, I managed to enroll in an audio engineering program, graduating with an award. This opened doors to collaborations with major companies, labels, and studios. Soon, I found myself engineering, producing, and writing for major artists, as well as working on TV shows and movies.
Looking back, relocating to a new country and living on my own at such a young age was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. However, it has led to accomplishments I’m deeply grateful for and a career that makes my family proud. This journey has taught me that taking risks, coupled with hard work and determination, can lead to the desired outcome.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I wear a lot of hats in this industry, and I love every one of them. At my core, I’m an artist and songwriter. There’s nothing quite like creating a song from scratch, you know?
But it doesn’t stop there. I’m also an audio engineer and producer. That means I take those songs and bring them to life in the studio. From laying down the tracks to mixing and mastering, I’m there every step of the way.
On weekends, you might find me behind the decks as a DJ, And on Sundays, I lead worship at my church, which is a whole different kind of musical experience.
One of the things I’m really passionate about is artist development. I love working with new talent, helping them find their unique voice and sound. It’s incredible to watch an artist grow and come into their own.
I also get to place music in TV shows and movies. There’s something special about hearing a song you worked on playing during a pivotal scene in your favorite show.
So whether it’s writing, producing, performing, or mentoring, I’m all about bringing music to life in every way I can. It’s a dream come true, really.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of working on music is that it’s deeply personal. Each song and melody becomes a journey of self-discovery. As I write and compose, I’m essentially exploring and processing my own emotions. It’s like therapy through creativity, allowing me to understand myself better with every melody and lyric.
But it goes beyond just me. What’s equally fulfilling is knowing that my music resonates with others. When listeners connect with my lyrics, when they find echoes of their own experiences in my songs, it creates this beautiful, shared emotional experience. It’s incredibly powerful to think that something I’ve created can help someone else understand their feelings or provide comfort during challenging times.
Music has this unique ability to serve as both a mirror and an escape. It reflects our inner worlds, helping us make sense of our emotions and experiences. At the same time, it can transport us, allowing us to momentarily forget our troubles and just enjoy the rhythm and melody.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I’ve come to realize that music is far more than just melodies – it’s a powerful tool for healing and transformation. My faith in God and my love for my family are my primary drivers, giving me the strength and purpose to pursue this path.
I believe music has the unique ability to touch hearts, soothe pain, and inspire change. Whether I’m creating a worship song, producing a track, or performing live, my aim is to craft something meaningful that can positively impact people’s lives.
For me, success in the music industry isn’t just about personal achievement. It’s about using my talents to make a difference. My ultimate goal is to create music that not only entertains but also uplifts, comforts, and potentially changes lives for the better. That’s what truly motivates me every day.
