We were lucky to catch up with Arash Hosseini recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Arash thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
In 2015, not long after I graduated from dental school, I took a significant leap by purchasing a dental practice in the suburbs of Chicago. At just 27 years old, my youthful appearance proved to be an unexpected challenge. Many patients, skeptical of my experience, voiced their preferences for a more seasoned practitioner. Despite my dedication to providing top-notch care, I struggled to convey this commitment to my patients, which initially led to a decline in the practice’s patient base.
Determined to turn things around, I recognized the need to differentiate myself from other local dentists. I decided that integrating advanced technology would be the key to distinguishing my services and enhancing patient communication and education. One of the first technologies I adopted was the CEREC system, which includes a digital scanner and a milling unit. This technology allows me to provide same-day dental restorations like crowns and veneers, which are traditionally more time-consuming and less precise when using conventional methods. By offering faster and more accurate results, I was able to regain patient trust and grow my practice.
The digital scanner also serves an educational purpose by showing patients detailed images of their dental issues, which helps remove any doubt about the necessity of treatment. This transparency has been instrumental in motivating patients to proceed with recommended procedures.
Continuing on the path of technological innovation, I introduced the Solea laser system to my practice. This technology allows for less invasive procedures, often without the need for anesthesia, providing a more comfortable experience for patients who fear needles and drills.
My commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies didn’t stop there. I later incorporated 3D CBCT imaging, which offers high-definition x-rays that can uncover dental issues undetectable by traditional 2D x-rays. This capability has significantly enhanced our diagnostic accuracy.
Most recently, I have embraced 3D printing, which supports a variety of rapid, in-house treatments including custom aligners for teeth straightening, personalized nightguards, and surgical guides for implant placement. This technology not only speeds up the treatment process but also helps in visualizing end results for treatments like veneers, further enhancing patient satisfaction and engagement.
These technological advancements have not only redefined patient care in my practice but have also established my reputation as a pioneer in digital dentistry. My approach has transformed the traditional dental experience into one that is more efficient, accurate, and patient-friendly, setting a new standard for modern dental care.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Dr. Arash Hosseini, and I entered the field of dentistry with a passion for improving patient care through innovation and technology. After graduating from dental school in 2015, I took a bold step by purchasing a dental practice in the suburbs of Chicago. Despite initial challenges, including skepticism from patients due to my youth, I was determined to redefine the standards of dental care in my community.
At my practice, we specialize in digital dentistry, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy, treatment efficiency, and patient comfort. One of the first technologies I introduced was the CEREC system, which allows for the design and fabrication of dental restorations like crowns and veneers right in our office, significantly reducing wait times and improving outcomes. This was quickly followed by the incorporation of the Solea laser, which facilitates less invasive procedures, often eliminating the need for anesthesia.
Further advancing our capabilities, I integrated 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) to provide detailed three-dimensional imaging for superior diagnostic insights, particularly in complex cases that standard x-rays cannot resolve. Our latest addition has been 3D printing technology, enabling us to offer rapid, customized treatments such as clear aligners and dental implants with unprecedented precision.
What sets us apart is not just our commitment to technological advancement, but how we use these tools to engage and educate our patients about their dental health. By providing them with clear, understandable visual evidence of their dental conditions, we empower them to make informed decisions about their treatment options.
I am most proud of how these technological integrations have transformed patient experiences and perceptions in our practice. Not only have we been able to attract a broader clientele, but we have also established a reputation as a leader in innovative dental solutions that prioritize patient comfort and outcomes. Our practice is a testament to how technology can be seamlessly integrated into healthcare to deliver exceptional results and patient satisfaction.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Starting a business right out of dental school presented a unique set of challenges. At 27, stepping into the role of a business owner brought with it immense pressures—financial burdens, time management struggles, and the steep learning curve of managing a practice. It was daunting, and there were countless moments where quitting seemed like the easiest option.
However, my vision for a technologically advanced dental practice where patients could experience a higher standard of care was a compelling force that kept me motivated. This dream wasn’t just about opening a practice; it was about revolutionizing the dental experience in my community. To keep moving forward, I broke down my ultimate goal into manageable milestones, which made each challenge seem less insurmountable.
There’s an everyday reality of obstacles that could lead to doubt or a desire to give up. Yet, in those moments, it’s crucial to remember the ‘why’ behind your actions. For me, remembering why I embarked on this journey—why I chose this path—was vital. It was about more than just dentistry; it was about making a significant impact through innovative care.
Staying resilient means tuning out the noise of external challenges and focusing on internal convictions. It’s about listening to that inner voice that drove me to this career path in the first place. By holding onto my core reasons and staying true to myself, I’ve been able to navigate the complexities of business ownership and emerge stronger on the other side. This journey has not just been about building a successful practice, but also about personal growth and realizing that the most significant obstacles often lead to the most valuable lessons.
Every day life throws challenges at you. Every day there’s a reason to quit. It’s important to block out that noise and to keep pushing until you achieve the reason why you started on this journey. It’s very important never to forget your why. Why am I here? Why did I come here to begin with? And nothing outside of yourself should ever influence or push you to do that. The answer always lies within and as long as you stay true to yourself and listen to yourself, outside factors are just noise.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Passion. I got into digital dentistry out of necessity to stand out. But as I grew in this field, I became passionate about pushing the limits of the technology and developing new and better techniques to master my trade. Success became a secondary byproduct of pure enthusiasm towards my modern approach toward delivering clinical excellence.
