Araceli, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My career was based in Finance for over 17 years, I wanted a change and the ability to be around my family more. My cousin and I developed a passion for plants and decide to use this as a stepping stone. A year later, after much planning and sacrificing The Flourishing Cousins store is open along with still participating with the community in local markets and fundraisers.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
It all started with a passion for plants and wanting to educate/help people with their plant goals.. We sell a variety of plants that vary in size from small table top plants to decorative full size plants. We also assist with repotting, arranging and installation with our plants and if you aren’t able to catch us at the store or venue we also deliver in the local central Florida area.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Flourishing Cousins began with Instagram, we were blogging about different plants and plant stores. We were able to build a following with our interesting stories/post. And from that we grew into markets and a store and flourished with our personalities. We love to see the people we’ve been able to touch and the future friends will make.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My business partner is my cousin, we didn’t grow up together due to age gap of 16 years. But once she relocated back to Florida, our families grew closer and we found tons in things in common including our interest in plants.
