We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aqsa Mustafa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aqsa below.
Hi Aqsa, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The creative spark ignited within me about seven years ago, marking the beginning of my artistic journey. Initially, it was a personal pursuit, a means to express my inner thoughts and emotions through the captivating medium of art. However, as my skills and passion for art deepened, I found myself drawn towards the idea of transforming this hobby into a fulfilling profession.
Two years ago, I took a leap of faith and embarked on the path of becoming a professional artist. This decision was fueled by my inherent entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to establish my own business. I envisioned a venture where I could share my artistic talents with the world while simultaneously pursuing my passion.
My artistic journey commenced with the creation of personalized faceless portraits, a unique concept that resonated with many individuals. These portraits captured the essence of a person without revealing their facial features, allowing for a more profound and intimate representation. The positive response to my work further solidified my belief in the power of art and its ability to connect with people on a deeper level.
As I continue to navigate the world of professional artistry, I am constantly seeking new avenues to expand my creative horizons and refine my skills. I am eager to explore diverse art forms, experiment with different techniques, and collaborate with fellow artists to broaden my artistic repertoire.
The pursuit of a creative career is not merely a profession for me; it is an ongoing odyssey of self-discovery, fueled by an unwavering passion for art and its boundless potential. I am committed to honing my craft, sharing my artistic vision with the world, and leaving an indelible mark on the realm of creativity.

Aqsa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a 20-year-old self-taught artist deeply rooted in my Islamic faith, I’ve embarked on a creative journey that has led me to explore the captivating realms of Arabic calligraphy, abstract art, and faceless portraiture. My artistic journey began with a simple passion for creating videos of my painting process on Instagram. However, I soon realized that Instagram wasn’t the ideal platform for building my personal brand and reaching a wider audience.
Following a friend’s recommendation, I ventured into the professional world of LinkedIn, where I discovered a thriving community and a platform that resonated with my artistic aspirations. Alhamdulillah, my presence on LinkedIn has flourished, enabling me to establish a strong personal brand and connect with a global audience.
My artistic repertoire encompasses a diverse range of creative expressions, each imbued with a unique essence. Arabic calligraphy allows me to weave intricate designs that reflect the beauty and profoundness of the Arabic language, while abstract art provides a boundless canvas for exploring emotions and concepts through a non-representational lens. Faceless portraits, on the other hand, capture the essence of an individual without revealing their facial features, creating a sense of intrigue and intimacy.
Beyond my artistic endeavors, I also offer graphic design services, specializing in crafting captivating LinkedIn banners that help individuals and businesses showcase their brand identity. I believe that every aspect of my work, from art to design, is an expression of my faith and a testament to the blessings of being a Muslima.
My journey as an artist has been a continuous process of learning, experimentation, and growth. I am driven by an unwavering passion for art and a desire to connect with people on a deeper level through my creations. I am proud of the progress I have made thus far, and I am excited to continue exploring new artistic horizons.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want them to know that my work is an extension of my soul, infused with passion, creativity, and a deep connection to my faith. I strive to create art that not only captivates the eye but also sparks emotions, inspires thought, and leaves a lasting impression. My goal is to use my artistic talents to make a positive impact on the world, one brushstroke at a time.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Undoubtedly, the most rewarding aspect of my artistic journey is the profound sense of mental peace that it bestows upon me. As I immerse myself in the creative process, my mind transcends the mundane and enters a realm of tranquility, where worries and anxieties fade into the background.
The act of creating art becomes a form of meditation, allowing me to connect with my inner self and explore the depths of my emotions. It is through this connection that I find solace, rejuvenation, and a sense of balance amidst the chaos of the world.
Therefore, the most precious reward of being an artist is not merely the creation of beautiful pieces, but the cultivation of inner peace and harmony. It is this profound sense of tranquility that fuels my passion, drives my creativity, and allows me to share my art with the world as an expression of my authentic self.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
To foster a thriving creative ecosystem and support artists and creatives, society can undertake several crucial steps:
Value Artistic Contributions: Acknowledge the immense value that artists and creatives bring to society. Their work enriches our lives, sparks imagination, and challenges perspectives, contributing to a vibrant and diverse cultural landscape.
Promote Arts Education: Incorporate arts education into the core curriculum from an early age, nurturing creativity and appreciation for diverse forms of artistic expression. This will cultivate a society that values art as an integral part of life.
Provide Financial Support: Establish funding programs, grants, and scholarships specifically dedicated to supporting artists and creatives. This financial assistance can help them focus on their craft, pursue professional development opportunities, and showcase their work to a wider audience.
Create Public Art Spaces: Dedicate public spaces for art exhibitions, performances, and community engagement. This will provide artists with accessible platforms to showcase their work and connect with audiences, fostering a vibrant creative scene.
Promote Collaborations: Encourage collaborations between artists, businesses, and community organizations. This will create opportunities for artists to apply their skills in diverse settings, while businesses and organizations can benefit from their creativity and fresh perspectives.
Protect Intellectual Property: Strengthen intellectual property laws and educate the public about the importance of respecting artists’ creations. This will ensure that artists are fairly compensated for their work and can sustain their creative endeavors.
Celebrate Diversity: Embrace the diversity of artistic expressions and encourage representation from various backgrounds and cultures. This will create a more inclusive and enriching creative landscape that reflects the richness of society.
Raise Public Awareness: Organize art festivals, workshops, and community events to raise public awareness about the importance of art and creativity. This will foster a deeper appreciation for the arts and encourage wider participation.
By implementing these measures, society can create a supportive environment where artists and creatives can thrive, enriching our lives with their unique talents and perspectives.
