Alright, April thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later

Heck yes is the short answer. I have been in social service for 22 years and while it was very meaningful and I was passionate about the work I love running my own schedule. When I started my business Covid had just locked down the country and a lot of people were facing mental health and were overwhelmed. My business was started as a way to support families during this difficult time. Cleaning is therapeutic for me and I love to see my clients’ faces when their homes are touched by Joyous Gems.

April, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am very proud about the recent developments within Joyous Gems, LLC. I have brought in a very dear friend and now business partner who has a desire to increase productivity and has made transitioning from residential only to adding commercial cleaning as a highly demanded service. His name is Deaveric Clayton and he has been so instrumental in the day to day of our growing business. I believe that love is in the details so I thrive to leave my customers feeling safe and satisfied. I use my understanding of behavior and my willingness to be supportive as a way to provide the best service for each individual.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

I met Deaveric at Georgia State University in 2001. He has always been consistent and cares deeply about people and the community. When he approached me to discuss commercial cleaning I was ready and we haven’t looked back since. 22 years of friendship.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I listed my cleaning services on Groupon to start building clientele. Once I started and provided excellent customer service it took off. Word of mouth is amazing and being consistent has made a huge impact. I’m thankful.
