Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to April Frazier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
April, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Healing Hearts Project, M.A. literally came from heaven. I had the name Healings Hearts for years, but wasn’t sure what it was going to be. After my divorce in 2016, I went back to school and got my Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies with a minor in Women’s Ministry and then continued on to get my Masters in Christian Care. All of this sparked something in me to rise up and help people more. We all have relationships and we all need to know and understand how to navigate through them. That is what I am here for! After experiencing divorce, I understand how difficult it can be to forgive and even trust again…to “heal your heart”…that is the whole objective of Healing Hearts Project, M.A. to help heal hearts.
April, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is April Frazier and I am the owner of Healing Hearts Project, M.A. I have been helping people all of my life, but I just made it official this year. Relationships can be hard and I am here to help navigate through those hard times. Sometimes it takes an outside listening ear to help shine the light on places you may not have thought of before. I offer Life Coaching and Christian Counseling. I am also a writer and self published author, so I also offer Book Coaching for those who don’t know where to start. I have published two books for myself and am currently working on another. I have also helped with two other books as well.
Those who know me know that I’m going to give it to straight, but in a way that helps and not hurt. I am all about healing and helping others get to their highest potential. If you are ready to do the work, I am ready to help!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience is important in every aspect of life. Going through a divorce after 11 years of marriage was tough. Letting go was hard but it was necessary. Going to back to school to get two degrees while working full time was no easy task, but I wanted it! Not to mention, I was laid off while being separated. Since then, I have been laid off two more times…but I’m still here. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start something of my own, so that I can build something that is my own. It’s not easy but it’s definitely worth it!
Have you ever had to pivot?
As previously mentioned, I have been laid off about 3 times at this point. My main job is in the mortgage industry and if you don’t know, it can be up and down. Each time I was laid off, I tried to get into something else but trying to relay my mortgage skills was very hard. No one wanted to hire me outside of the mortgage industry. Neverthelesss, I went back to the mortgage industry but into hard money lending versus residential. This is also the reason I started pushing myself more to start my own business so that I can have more control.
