Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to April Frazee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
April, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
The inspiration to start offer services and have in-home art studio came from my own transformative experience with creativity. A few years ago, I started going to an art studio with some close friends once a month, setting aside time to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. We turned off our phones and immersed ourselves in experimenting with colors, textures, and techniques. This regular creative escape sparked a passion within me that I realized was both therapeutic and deeply fulfilling.
What stood out was how this small act of creative play significantly impacted other areas of my life. Stepping away from constant productivity pressures and allowing myself to explore creativity not only improved my sense of well-being but also made me more focused and productive in my business life. It became clear to me how essential it is to balance work with activities that nurture my creative side and me bring joy.
I saw a need in others, too. Many adults have distanced themselves from creative play, worrying too much about how “good” they are at something or what others might think. I wanted to create a space that encourages people to rediscover their creativity without judgment—a space where they could relax, reconnect with themselves, and gain perspective. By sharing this experience through my in-home art studio, I hope to inspire others to tap into their creative side, which not only brings joy and peace but can also reduce anxiety and open up a fresh way of seeing the world.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It’s amazing how life’s journey can lead us back to what we love most. I grew up in a household that nurtured creativity—both of my parents are talented artists—so art has always been a part of my life. Despite that, I never saw myself pursuing art as a career. Instead, I studied biochemistry and eventually found myself in the world of real estate. But after years of following other paths, I’ve realized what I truly want to be when I grow up: someone who shares the joy and transformative power of art with others.
As I step into 2025, I’m thrilled to be bringing my dream to life by offering unique, creative experiences through one-on-one and group art sessions. My goal is to help people create something they’re proud of while having fun and enriching their lives through art.
I offer a wide range of art projects, from mixed media to resin art creations like trays, charcuterie boards, coasters, and turntables. Clients can also explore fun techniques like paint pouring, glass art, textural art, or even upcycling old items into something beautifully new.
My studio, based in my home, is designed to be an inviting, relaxing, and judgment-free space where creativity can truly flourish. Guests are welcome to bring a bottle of wine, visit with friends, and enjoy the process of creating something unique and personal. I want every session to be more than just an art project—it’s about exploration, connection, and discovering the artist within.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The core mission driving my creative journey is to live a more fulfilling and balanced life. By intentionally carving out time to explore creativity, experiment with new projects, and look at things from fresh perspectives, I’ve discovered an incredible source of joy and balance in my own life. This journey has taught me that creativity isn’t just about making art—it’s about reconnecting with yourself, finding peace in the process, and embracing the joy of trying something new.
This transformation has been so meaningful to me that I feel compelled to share it with others. I want to create opportunities for people to step away from their busy, stressful lives and discover the therapeutic power of creativity. Through my art studio, I hope to not only share my talents and skills but also inspire others to explore their own creativity and realize how deeply it can enrich their lives. This mission is about more than just art; it’s about helping others find their own balance, joy, and fulfillment.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I’ve heard so many people say, “I’m not creative” or “I can’t do art.” To that, I always respond: everyone has an artist inside them. Sometimes, that creative part of you has just been buried so deeply by life’s demands or self-doubt that you can’t find it anymore. But it’s still there—it just needs a little coaxing to reemerge.
Even the most analytical, left-brained individuals can benefit immensely from tapping into the right side of their brain. Engaging in creativity helps unlock focus, clarity, and new perspectives, which can have a ripple effect on every aspect of life. It’s not about being “good” at art; it’s about the process of exploring and reconnecting with that creative part of yourself.
People are often shocked at how much joy, peace, and even productivity they gain when they give themselves permission to create freely. My mission is to help people find that inner artist again and discover how creativity can enrich their lives in ways they never imagined.
