April , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
I have several customers that come to me to detox because it helps with their pain and joints. I also have one imparticular that A1c has improved as well as their liver enzymes. My job is to help people and when they have good results and come back to me excited it makes me excited. I love helping them achieve better health and self confidence through body contouring, facials, detoxing; as well as some of my other treatments.
April , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is April Davis, I have been a business owner since 2019. My business started out as credit repair, life coaching, and business building services (Whoosah Transformational Coaching); which I all still do, but it has evolved into health and Wellness as well. In 2021 I added a 2nd business Bodied By Whoosah. It is a overall dayspa. We do detoxing, weight-loss, and esthetics services. This started with my own health and Wellness journey. My weight-loss loss battles. The ups and downs. Now I help, motivate, and encourage others to get on the band wagon. I also help women and men feel good about themselves. Through facials and different treatments I make men feel like kings and women feel like queens. I love to pamper people so this is definitely my passion and my calling. I definitely have found my love. I treat all clients like family.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
2021 I opened my first store front. 2022 was my year of sacrifice. I took a chance on me and left my full-time job. It was scary, but it was also good while it lasted, but in September 2022 after almost 2 years in my store front I decided to make a major move and pivot. I moved into a new resident and moved the business in connection with my home. For some they may say that’s a step backwards, but to me it was a business move and a blessing. Everyone wants a storw front and if that works for you then I say do it, but for me it made more since to make my money and keep it. Kill the over head. I was worried at how my clients would respond, but so far all my clients have been a blessing. And what makes it even better is No double rent, no double cable, no double lights…I get to keep my money. We working smart not hard from here on out. Longevity in your business is key. I wanna continue to work myself as long as I possible can and that means making smart business moves.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I fall in the 40 plus crowd. Definitely no disrespect to the upcoming and younger business owners or people, but sometimes our work ethic can be different. My motto is treat people like you wanna be treated. Respect people time and appreciate people who value you enough to spend their time and money with you, and I think that makes a difference in business. You have to treat hour business like your baby and your customers too. If they have an appointment, be there and on time! Make sure their experience is enjoyable, and always be open to new ideas and suggestions. Treat people with love and care. Make sure they know and feel your appreciation. I love my clients and when they come to see me I try to make sure they feel it.
