We caught up with the brilliant and insightful April Amarillas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
April, appreciate you joining us today. When you’ve been a professional in an industry for long enough, you’ll experience moments when the entire field takes a U-Turn, an instance where the consensus completely flips upside down or where the “best practices” completely change. If you’ve experienced such a U-Turn over the course of your professional career, we’d love to hear about it.
My professional u-turn would have been recently this year 2023. 2023 was a year for drastic changes including stepping down from a major professional beauty brand as an educator and finding my own way to another amazing men’s haircare product company as a educator. I felt the time was right and change was needed. I’m happy i took that leap of faith. A month ago i also had a shift in my universe with my business. It was time to grow and step out into a new space. Though this wasn’t planned it worked out pretty well. I was able to grow my space and my business to becoming fully booked in a new nicer space with better work energy at The Beauty District With a Studio space for Fade and Blade Studio. Im happy to share i Have a team member with me named Alexis B. who specializes in Hair Color. Im Happy to say there is nothing more to do then keep growing in the Beauty Industry .
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
