We were lucky to catch up with Apex Team At the Corcoran Group recently and have shared our conversation below.
Apex Team, appreciate you joining us today. So, one thing many business owners consider is donating a percentage of revenue or profits to an organization or cause. We’d love to hear your thoughts and the story behind how and why you chose the cause or organization you donate to.
We love this question, because giving back is our business motto!!!
When Apex Team was formed, the vision was to serve our Military and Veteran communities in a special way! We are a family team who not only value our Heroes, but have first hand experience in being a Military family to a Veteran who served 27 years in the Army.
As a thank you for their service, we GIVE **15% OF OUR OWN COMMISSION BACK AT CLOSING to all Active Duty and Honorably Discharged Veterans to be used towards closing costs.**
We have also partnered with a Lender and Title Agency who are lowering their fees, and/or paying for the property appraisal.
To us, it is not only an honor, but our duty to give back to those who sacrifice so much for our country!!!

Apex Team is a mother and daughter Realtor® team at the Corcoran Group in West Palm Beach.
We stem from a multigenerational family that has found great success in the real estate market in the US and internationally; from purchasing, renovating and selling throughout Brazil, Massachusetts, Tennessee and South Florida.
The attributed success to our business is based mostly on word of mouth and returned clients and as we mentioned before,
our passion and devotion to serve the Military and Veteran communities, are some of the reasons that set us apart. With our collaboration with a lender and title company, our goal is to educate the community about the process of accepting VA loan offers and also assist Veterans with their purchase.
Christine Ortiz is a licensed Realtor® and Marketing expert. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northeastern University in Boston and joins Apex Team at The Corcoran Group with a successful 10 year career in Marketing from Zimmerman Advertising. Christine’s greatest passion is for her family. She and her husband bought their first home together at 25, flipped it, and moved on to building their dream home for their two daughters.
Cynthia Mondeaux is a licensed Realtor® and certified Military Relocation Professional. She holds a degree in Psychology and joins The Corcoran Group as an expert in listing/selling and rehabilitating properties, including a major renovation of a historic home in West Palm Beach. Her inspiration to sell real estate originates from her and her husband’s personal experience of moving around multiple times and renovating their own homes. They recently purchased their dream home where they enjoy spending time with their family and friends.
Both Cynthia and Christine speak English, Portuguese and Conversational Spanish.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A question for Cynthia:
One of the hardest things I ever had to do in my life was to give up my career when my husband returned from his last deployment. I’ve always found much worth through my work and giving it up made me feel like I had been stripped down from a life I knew.
My husband came home after a year of deployment and unfortunately, it was time for him to give up his uniform. Not because he wanted, but because his body and mind had enough! It took 3 years for my husband to transition from the Army into to the Civilian world. There were plenty of doctor’s appointments and surgeries involved….. so yes, he did need my help and giving up my job at the time was the absolute right decision for our family.
Today I am thankful that I have my own Veteran at home safe and enjoying life. As for me, once we moved to Florida, choosing to finally get my license in Real Estate was an easy decision. I absolutely love to see the look on each client’s face when we close on their property. From listing a home and going through the entire selling process to the excitement of viewing homes and watching each individual choose their bedroom, or start decorating a home.
Christine and I make a great team and I really appreciate having my own daughter as a partner!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
A question for Christine:
So I am relatively new to real estate, having quit my 9-6 job in advertising last year that I had for the past 10 years. I was fortunate enough to be able to join Cynthia, aka my mom, and we created Apex Team. Right off the bat, I was able to use my college education and past career experience to market myself and the Team, growing our clientele and reputation in the market.
Although I am now known as the “Cookie Lady” in my neighborhood due to a guerrilla marketing campaign I did at our club house, advertising is not what defines my reputation and business motto. Buying and selling real estate can be exciting, emotional, and even stressful and I think it is very important that you find a realtor that respects and cares for you. And that is how I run my business and built my reputation to be known for. When I take on a client, they are not just dollar signs or a transaction I need to check all the boxes for; they become part of my family and I aim to help and guide them like I would with anyone of my family members. If you sell with me, I’m not just going to put a lock box and let strangers walk into your house, I will be there for the showings and give you and your property the supervision and respect it deserves. If you buy with me, I’ll show you as many houses as it takes until we find THE ONE.
I believe my methods and personality really make my clients feel comfortable and respected throughout their real estate joinery; and that is what has helped me grow my business.
