We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anya Rise. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anya below.
Anya, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
The legacy I hope to leave is one of truth, empathy, and impact. I’m sure everyone will have their own story to tell about me, but what I know for certain is that I spend my life making choices that honor my values. Everything I create aligns with my mission, so when I leave this world, the art I leave behind will carry traces of love, truth, and the full depth of this human journey. My words, my art, and my visuals will capture the complexities of humanity—each unique path that comes together into a single, interconnected story.
I hope to be remembered as I am—a woman who stood ten toes in her truth, a woman with an incredible mind, a woman with a free spirit, a woman who loved fiercely, a woman who forged her own path, and a woman who rose each time stronger and more loving than before.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Anya Rise, and truth be told, I don’t think I have a story about how I became an artist—because I was born this way. Art, poetry, and intellectualism aren’t things you stumble across or grow to craft; they’re planted in your soul before your eyes even open.
I’ve been an artist my entire life, but I never thought it would be something I shared with the world or chose to profit from.
When I moved to Florida from Brooklyn, I felt completely out of place. I come from a mixed household, and the lack of culture took me by surprise. So, I spent years masking in order to assimilate. Things have always come easily to me, so I picked a path and built a plan around it. I decided to graduate high school, move to Miami for college, go to hair school in NY, and open a salon. That’s exactly what I did. By the age of 25, I had opened and run my first highly successful high-end salon.
Three years later, life—and years of high masking—caught up to my nervous system. I ran out of energy and closed my salon. At the time, I had a new lover and thought it was heaven on earth. Within the next two years, reality hit me—so did deception and heartbreak. That was the last straw. It pushed me into who I had always been, and the masks fell off.
Shortly after, I released and directed my first visual poetry album. Four months later, I released my first book series, The Survivor’s Collection.
I think the main thing that sets me apart from most is my mind—the depth, the wisdom, and the ability to see all the puzzle pieces come together from afar. Secondly, it’s my ability to pick up new skills quickly and the drive it takes to play every role. But truthfully, what I’m most proud of is my mind and my soft heart. Those are my most prized gifts.
What do I want my audience to know? That if you’re looking for depth, for the meaning behind life—if you’re seeking to better understand yourself and the world around you—join my society. Times are changing, and we are most certainly on the rise, together.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mind works in a mechanical way—the moment I started piecing together who I really was, everything became about my mission. It was like a lightbulb went off in my head, and I just knew: I’m here to help us transition into the new world. I’m here to be a part of the revolution, bringing us back to our core values and reigniting the fire in humanity. To remind us all where we came from and who we truly are—beyond just our bodies.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
As a serial entrepreneur, I’ve had to pivot countless times in all aspects of life. Growth comes with understanding that the plan will continuously evolve, especially as you gain new insights and cues on which direction to take. Nothing is set in stone—each season and phase of life is here not only to teach you but to equip you with the tools needed for the next part of your journey.
I went from starting a nonprofit to educate the community, to running a salon, launching an organic oil company, creating a healing center, and now being a full-time artist, writer, and director. Each phase gave me tools that I still use today and taught me invaluable lessons about myself. It provided the understanding I needed to fully embrace who I am and the mission I’ve always carried.
Funny enough, the mission never changed. I’ve held these values since childhood.
