Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Antonio Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Antonio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I first knew I wanted to do Art professionally in 2003 at age 20. Me and my friend were looking to make money off of our art talent and heard of airbrushing. We went half on a basic airbrush kit and starting airbrushing shirts for sale. I did this for about 3 years than I switched to acrylic paint on shirts. In 2011 I painted my first portrait on canvas. I continued to paint on shirts until 2014,now I only do canvas, murals and paint parties.
Antonio, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am 41 years old and have been into art my entire life. I focus on providing custom portrait paintings for customers as well as canvas paintings of subjects I create myself to sell. When it comes to giving gifts during birthdays or holidays my artwirk is a one of a kind gift they can not fibd in stores. I also host sip and paint parties for all ages. These parties have served as birthday parties, team building events as well as fundraisers. These parties have raised funds for scholarships at colleges, churches, youth sports teams and more. I also paint murals directly on walls for customers who want to decorate their gyms, salons and any other businesses. These murals include logos, and subjects surrounding the customers business. These murals enhance their venues providing a unique experience for customers visiting. I provide live painting at events for various occasions as well. These events include birthdays, fundraising events and more. There are some events where the painting is sold or auctioned to raise funds for a cause or fundraiser. In other cases the painting may be of the person celebrating a birthday or another occasion.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing about being an artist is the range of different people yoo come across. Art is a universal language and people of all races ,incomes and backgrounds become customers. The other most rewarding thing is seeing a customers reaction when you paint one of their loved ones. Having people cry over your artwork is a great feeling of appreciation knowing your art can touch people in such a huge way.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my social media audience through consistency. I grew my audience by expanding my artwork to other cities beyond my own local area. I also connected with party and club promoters to get artwork to celebrities such as Cardi B, Shaq and more. This allowed more customers to want my artwork seeing celebrities are now owning my work. I built my hashing for years and allowed it to be part of my brand along with other art hashtags to allow people looking for art to find me. I also used social media to connect snd collaborate with other artist hosting events and art shows, allowing me to gain more customers in other networks.
