Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Antonio Clay . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Antonio, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name of the brand is Clay Chairs Tents and Events. My last name is Clay and I wanted to include my last name to show that we’re a family business, not some national chain rental company.Drawing on my experience as a customer I remember the family owned businesses I visited and shopped at, and how friendly and comfortable they made me feel. I want that same sense of comfortabliity for my customers /clients from the minute they hear about our Brand.
Antonio , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the industry during a tuff time . I had some deaths in my family. We were renting chairs and tables for the wake and repass. As we were calling around trying to rent chairs everyone was out of chairs, and there were none available in the whole city.. That’s when the idea hit me. I can rent out chairs,tables, and tents ! How hard could it be right ? Lol So I started researching chairs. The diffrent types of chairs , the colors , sturdiness. It was a lot to learn and became at times over whelming. But I stuck threw it because I had a vision. I seen we’re I wanted to take it . After starting the business I realized that I’m helping people in there time of need . Wether it’s a happy or sad occasion I take pride in showing up with great rental equipment and making your day the best I can . We’ve done Birthday party’s, anniversrys , weddings , funerals , retirement party’s . Just about any event gathering you can think off . On time and punctual is my standard .
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Our analytics show that we get most of our customer traffic through our website.WWW.Clayrentalstore.com. We funnel traffic from social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as Google and their many outlets to reach people. I believe in lots of Visual Content. We have commercials showcasing the equipment and services we have to offer. We have visual advertising we post on social media almost weekly. I think there’s never enough images of your busisnes or promotion. I want our customers/clients to have a clear understanding of what we have to offer and how high we set our expectations as a Brand. We also rely on word of mouth, treating every customer /client with respect and being transparent has reciprocated in more traffic . Because a friend will tell a friend about the good experience. Also family and friends play a big role as far as spreading the word about our brand’s presence on social media by sharing and liking our brand content and posts.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
We started in July of 2022. As graduation season approached, business picked up fast. The demand for our equipment had went up . We found ourselves juggling the website traffic, as well as the phone calls that were pouringin, all while trying to respond to every DM/email quickly. We found ourselves overwhelmed, trying to manage potential double bookings and a full delivery schedule. Just two People “my Wife and I “! >So I paused and pivoted. I added a Booking calendar feature to the website. This made scheduling easier for booking for the customer/client as well as for us . I also added more inventory which decreased the amount of double bookings we had at the time. Ultimately we were able to reach more customer /clients with more equipment to offer. We also had more time for each client /customer so we could uphold our integrity and very high standard we keep at Clay Chairs, Tents and Events.
