Antonella, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I am an Italian goldsmith and jewelry designer who owned a jewelry boutique in Italy, a family business known for our handmade jewelry. I moved to New York several years ago, and years later, I started my business with the vision of continuing my jewelry boutique tradition and the mission of bringing authentic Italian artisan-made fine jewelry to my clients. With a passion for jewelry craftsmanship and a focus on working with skilled Italian artisans, I create timeless designs that prioritize high- quality, beauty, and character. I named my line Via Orefici, which translates to Goldsmiths Street, in homage to the area in Italy where my store was located. It is a historic district where skilled artisans have been creating jewelry for centuries.

Antonella, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am the founder of Via Orefici Jewelry, a women’s fine jewelry line meticulously handcrafted by skilled Italian artisans in 18-karat gold and natural gemstones. I am Italian and I owned a jewelry boutique in Italy, a family business established by my father, where my passion for designing and crafting fine jewelry was born. I moved to New York several years ago, and I now reside with my family in Los Angeles, where I founded Via Orefici with the vision of continuing the tradition of my jewelry boutique in Italy.
The name “Via Orefici,” meaning Goldsmiths Street, pays homage to the historic goldsmiths’ district in Genoa, where my shop was located, and where skilled artisans have crafted beautiful jewelry for centuries.
With Via Orefici Jewelry, I take pride in bringing my clients a rich heritage of luxury craftsmanship. My goal is to provide clients with exquisite jewelry that celebrates their unique style and personality, while sharing the cherished Italian goldsmith tradition that has inspired our creations.
I collaborate closely with independent goldsmiths who handcraft each piece with passion, precision, and attention to detail. The collections, inspired by the beauty of gold and natural gemstones, blend timeless elegance and contemporary flair, focusing on luxury craftsmanship to showcase quality, beauty, character, and sophistication. We prioritize sustainability by using recycled gold and offer customization options, with pieces designed for both everyday wear and special occasions.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

Yes, I manufacture my jewelry by working closely with selected Italian artisans. I come from a family background in goldsmithing, where my father and I used to handmake jewelry in Italy. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the manufacturing process and allows me to maintain quality control over my jewelry. In Italy, artisans have a rich tradition of goldsmithing and employ century-old techniques, which I value. When I first started, I was fortunate to have a network of goldsmith colleagues in Genoa. I have expanded my collaborations, but my primary focus remains on ensuring the quality of the jewelry.
I learned the importance of maintaining strong relationships with artisans, prioritizing quality over quantity, and continuously refining the manufacturing process to meet high quality standards.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been providing excellent quality products and prioritizing customer service. The commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and ensuring customer satisfaction is crucial for building strong relationships with clients and attracting new customers.
