We were lucky to catch up with Anton Krecic recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anton, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have always had a passion for the pro-life movement. Years ago I had the opportunity to visit a pregnancy center. I was so moved by the work they do, they are literally saving lives in communities across the country. But one thing stood out, they are severely underfunded. When I had the idea for Seven Weeks Coffee, I wanted to make it about giving back and supporting pro-life pregnancy centers at the local level.
That is our mission and purpose, to have a tangible impact in supporting pro-life organizations across the country.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am 27 years old and have a background in political fundraising for candidates, PACs, and non-profits. In the fall of 2021 I started Seven Weeks Coffee, a pro-life coffee company that gives back to pregnancy care centers. In two years we have been able to raise over $250,000 in donations, supporting over 750 pro-life organizations across the country.
What makes us unique is that we not only have a great mission, but we also have a great product. I believe success is defined as excellence in mission and excellence in product. We accomplish this by sourcing some of the best coffees from around the world. We also have the most ethical sourcing practices known as Direct Trade, this means we pay farmers directly and more than 300% of what fiar trade requires.
I am incredibly thankful to our customers and proud of the impact that we are already making. There is a continual need to support pro-life ministries across the US and we want to be a company that continues to financially support these organizations.
We believed we are just getting started, and I know we have an even greater impact ahead!
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Seven Weeks Coffee started as a side hustle and then grew into a full time job after 8 months. I always wanted to work for myself, but it was a huge leap of faith to pursue this full time.
One of the biggest keys to our success was to maintain our focus. As entrepreneurs, it is easy to get distracted and start new things. Once you start a business you want to spend the majority of your time on the main revenue drivers of your business. For us it was providing excellence coffee and selling it to consumers across the country. We did not get caught up with other ideas, we kept the focus simple and that is how we grew.
Another helpful tip is to make sure you stay profitable. Managing expenses is hard for start-ups, but it is so important to always find creative solutions to growth so you are not taking on debt or other risks.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We were fortunate to get some press and PR right when we launched. This really helped us jumpstart sales and also gain trust from our first consumers. I also personally responded to thousands of questions and emails from customers. I think it is super important to personally engage your customers as you are growing.
Never take a customer’s trust for granted. It must be earned,
