Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anton Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Anton, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of Antstethic Arts, LLC is to create a more inclusive & unique society. To do this we promote individualism and entrepreneurship through the power of art.
All my life I’ve seen people give up on their dreams or not have a dream to believe in at all simply because they didn’t know how to express their feelings correctly or have the tools to bring their imagination to life. Thats why I’m here.
Art really started as a hobby and I used to be nervous about my art because it wasn’t always a cool thing to be an artist. But as I got older, I started taking pride in my talents and soon realized how much people enjoyed the art I made and how it can help others achieve their goal.
Anton, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always been into art my entire life , I started of drawing but in highschool I was introduced to all the technology adobe had and that really took my skills to another level. Adobe makes everything g quick and easy and even makes large scale pieces of art all on your computer screen.
As I stated before I always made art as a hobby. However, some friends and family would ask me for help on things like invitations, party flyers and even logos. What started as a good deed quickly turned into business. Some people will literally offer me money to make something for them. Eventually , turning my hobby into a business.
The services I offer now include designing clothes , logos , advertisements , flyers , brand design and marketing.
Some of the products I offer are posters , clothes , accessories and wallpapers. Which are all exclusively Ant x Arts!
One thing I would want people to know about me is that I consider myself an “Artist” for a very specific reason. I used to call my self a graphic designer but I felt like that put me in a bubble. I consider myself an “Artist” because I tend the excel in many forms of creative art such as music, dance , sports and even cooking.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Man. For a very long time , I was doing a lot of things for free or for a very low price. In top of that , many people would steal my work as well. Acting like they were gonna pay and then disappear.
However , I did a lot of free work at first to build up my portfolio, get good customer reviews and to hone my skills. I think that’s what most entrepreneurs are not willing to do. It’s not an easy life working a 9-5, then going home and work from 6-12 on your business …FOR FREE. But , I just saw it as a matter of time though. I knew that one day I’ll run into the right person and they would spread the word.
I also made huge changes on how I sample my work to my clients. I used to get a lot of work stolen. BUT NOT ANYMORE. We’ll save that story for another time though.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned through out my journey is that to truly run a successful business you have to understand what a business really is.
I used to think it was all for money but it isn’t. I went to school for entrepreneurship & Innovation Management. During my studies I learned that a business or entity is meant to
generating income in the economy and create jobs for locals. They should also encourage economic growth,
This is why I emphasize that my business is here to promote entrepreneurship and individualism. I’ve seen many business flourishing once I helped them create an identity or “vibe”.
