We were lucky to catch up with Antoinette Vaughner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Antoinette, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage everything. I started my business excited about touching every part of the process of being a photographer. From creating and maintaining a website to editing pictures. Now that I know what it truly takes to be an entrepreneur, I desire a team.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I am originally from Huntsville, TX. A little country town but you always felt full of love, and everyone was family.
I joined the military in Sept 2004 and due to traveling the world while serving my country, I have met great people. They are my family also. They actually push me right along with my real family.
Ok, photography is different. Entrepreneurship is different. You learn to network and while some might make this a competition, I’m not. I love meeting new people, working with new people, and pouring love into people. Photography is my outlet, my therapy and my passion.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to hear my clients vision and add my sauce and make it pop (laugh out loud). No seriously, I want to give people an outlet to express sexuality, intimacy, body positivity, love, anything that gives them a freedom to express through portraits and one day video.
I want people to feel comfortable and respected when working with me. I hope this makes sense.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A story of resilience, well I can’t pin point one particular story but being a mom in the military, pushing through the challenges of maintaining a career and being an entrepreneur makes me feel pretty good. I have always felt in a box. No one put me there but me. I always cared what people thought of me and whatever I had going on.
Now at the age of 37, I accept others and their vision. I want to just live, be happy and create dope portraits.
