We were lucky to catch up with Antoinette Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Antoinette , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew by the age of 8 years old that I was going to do something creative. It wasn’t until many years of singing at church that I knew I wanted to sing professionally. I have been singing since the age of 3 years old in my grandfather’s church. I’ve always loved creating things as a child, music, plays, musicals, art. Anything artistic I loved to do it. I recently wrote my very 1st soon to be published book entitled JOYLAND. I am so excited to let people hear how I became this Woman full of creativity and full of Joy!

Antoinette , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Antoinette Michelle is very unique and optimistic. I absolutely love God and I love people, I also love to create and care for those in need. I think people should know that we only get one life to live. I want to be the best at what I was created to do! It’s my God given gifts, to sing, write, care for the homeless and , provide necessities for those in need with an Outreach Ministry , that my family and I started many years ago along with a dear friend who is no longer hear with us. I know she would be along side of us taking care and loving people as well. It’s called Feed My Sheep, and we do just that. I absolutely love doing really cool things for really amazing people. Most people didn’t ask to be In that situation they are in, but life happens and it can be hard to bounce back! Sometimes people just need a helping hand and my family and I have opened our hands to help those who have a need, and we are thankful to be able to do this for others. There is no boring day in my life! With being a Wife , Mother Business Owner, Author, Singer and so much more I’m constantly thinking of what to do next!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience is my 2nd middle name! This journey of my life hasn’t been easy, and that is ok. Life has taught me to preserve in the day of adversity, and to push forward and thank God for the small victories, because those victories will all add up and then I can count it all joy when I face trails in life, the trails will come, you just have make sure you have stored up joy for those moments. My husband recently needed 2 transplants a Kidney and A Pancreas right in the middle of 2020, his kidneys shut down and he needed to be put on dialysis! Talk about the worst time to get sick but not just sick he was in need of organs so that he could live to walk his daughter down the isle when the time comes. During this time of uncertainty I wrote my very 1st single Just Hold On by Antoinette Michelle, now on all digital platforms where music is sold. I needed something to help him get through the fear of what was going on and to help me stay focused on seeing God heal my husband. 18 months later God made my husband whole. My husband received both organs while on the donor list less than 2 years which is unheard of, but when God says you are healed than hold on, you Just Got Healed!!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to make music that brings people to Jesus that’s it. My mission is to tell my stories to anyone who will listen of how God saved and changed my life. I had no clue all this creativity was in me as a young girl, but sometimes it takes hardship and life experiences to bring out your greatness so you can see what has been there hidden all the time. God is the Ultimate Creator and after all, I am created in His likeness.
