We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Antoine Martin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Antoine , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I coached Little League football for 16 years, and in the process, I became a mentor, role model, and father figure. I just wanted to see better for the next generations, you know? I had a real passion for helping people—especially the kids in our community. I loved it so much that I got into the education field to become a teacher. I also coach JV high school football, which was a major goal of mine growing up.
I decided to create whatsNurs because I wanted more than just a brand or clothing line. To me, it represents life principles—morals, respect, being a risk taker, a go-getter. I’m a firm believer in chasing your dreams, developing your craft, and manifesting your greatness.
One day, I thought to myself, “People need to hear the stuff we talk about!” I told myself, let’s make a show—why not? You only die once, so live life. I sat on the idea for a couple of days and ran it by my fian (fiancé) that’s what I call her. Her exact words were, “I believe you’ll be great at it.” The next day, I called up my homeboy, told him the plan, and here we are.
I just want people to have fun watching it—to get a good laugh while being educated. Because at the end of the day, it’s just our thoughts. In my eyes, it’s all about seizing the moment. Stop spending so much time looking back in the rearview mirror or worrying about the future—the time is now.

Antoine , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is T. Martin, the CEO and founder of WhatsNurs.
WhatsNurs is short for “What’s in your heart.” I was born and raised on the East Side of Buffalo, NY. I attended Seneca Vocational High School, where I earned my Regents Diploma, and later graduated from Buffalo State College with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing, with a concentration in Management.
Growing up, I loved sports and spending time with family and friends. I’ve been playing football since I was five years old—all the way through college. I used to love chilling on the porch, especially on those Buffalo summer nights, just kicking it with the fellas for hours Macking and hanging from sunup to sundown.
WhatsNurs is more than a clothing brand and talk show—it’s a way of life. It’s about living with morals and respect, motivating yourself, and having the ambition and drive to get to the next level. It’s about conquering your goals, facing your fears, and believing that the impossible is possible. It’s about being dedicated to your craft, having faith in God, and believing in yourself.
Our logo is a heart—often considered the hardest-working muscle in the human body. Inside our logo are five words: Motivation, Dedication, Ambition, Selflessness, and Faith. It’s a process living by these principles, but it’s worth it. And don’t forget to enjoy your journey along the way, because the process is always better than the product.
Failure is part of the process.
Faith is believing in something you cannot see—so master your mental.
Our motto is: You only go as far as the people around you. Surround yourself with greatness, with dreamers and people who still have imaginations like kids—because dreams become reality only if you’re ready to put the work in.
Our talk show is like a therapy session where we check in on how we’re feeling, what’s going on in the world, and how we’re setting and reaching goals. We have hard conversations about things we need to start—or stop—doing, like breaking bad habits, and we discuss music, culture, and uplifting topics. We share our personal experiences and thoughts, and while doing so, we might have a little wine or champagne to toast to our success and highlights—or maybe even a shot of tequila, depending on the day!
Now, back to the clothing line—WhatsNurs is more than a brand; it’s a lifestyle rooted in authenticity, ambition, and quality.
Our designs are made for everyday workers like you. Our T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants aren’t just about style—they represent the hustle, the drive, and the dedication that define your journey. Whether you’re grinding at the office, chasing your dreams, or putting in work at the job site, our apparel is made to move with you.
We believe that the same ambition you put into your work every day should be reflected in what you wear. Our gear embodies that spirit—comfortable, durable, and authentic to the core.
WhatsNurs isn’t just a question—it’s a statement of pride.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As the late great Nipsey Hussle once said never let a hard time humble us . The game going test you gotta stay 10 toes down. let nobody tell you, you can’t do something especially, if they haven’t done it themselves can’t nobody see your vision like you. Just imagine two people looking at the same painting, but see two different things I wanted to be a talkshow host because I believe in the power of conversation.
Podcast/talkshow are a unique platform that allow for depth, honesty, and connection in a world that often moves too fast for meaningful dialogue.
Hosting a talkshow gives me the opportunity to spotlight real stories, share valuable knowledge, and create a space where people feel seen, heard, and inspired.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Absolutely,I built my audience on social media by being consistent, posting three times a day staying updated on the hottest topics you have to know your audience be different different is key that’s why we have a talkshow not a podcast podcasts are one dimensional, our show we any and everywhere from facilities building our studio at the biggest events or on he streets engaging with the people getting their thoughts, just built relationships. When you’re not motivated consistency is the key consistency can bring back motivation, it’s hard being in a field that everybody’s in you have to put your own sauce on it to separate you from the competition and other businesses. Always be willing to learn you’re never too old to learn something new. What excites me the most is the ability to serve others through this platform. Whether it’s educating listeners, uplifting underrepresented voices, or providing actionable insights for personal or professional growth, my goal is to build a community that thrives on learning, authenticity, and shared growth. Don’t get discouraged when your people not supporting you or celebrating you property keep grinding keep pushing keep going because strangers support you more than your people sometimes.Continue to grow, successful businesses is not built overnight stay patient stay focus and keep God first.
From a business perspective, hosting a talkshow is a powerful tool for building trust and visibility. It allows me to position myself as a thought leader, share my expertise, and connect with both current and potential clients in a more personal way. It’s not just about promoting services it’s about creating long-term value, building relationships, and expanding my reach through genuine engagement.
Ultimately, this platform isn’t just for me it’s for the people I serve. If I can inspire one person to think differently, take a bold step, or simply feel less alone, then I’ve done my job well.
