Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Antoine Jackson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Antoine , thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
We came up with the name of our business, The College Of Hip Hop.Org because we wanted the consumer to understand that this company was designed to teach them about the business of entertainment with a focus on music.

Antoine , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are Antoine and Santoine Jackson, twin brothers from Inkster Michigan and we have been involved in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, we started as artist but always felt it necessary to lean about the business we wanted to be apart of. Once we started to learn the business of music and entertainment we fell in love with it, we started to teach the business to our circle of artist and producers that we hung out with. Then in 2013 we decided it was time to offer this knowledge to the world and we launched TheCollegeOfHipHop.Org. It was the first site of it’s kind and it was edutainment because we taught / teach entertainment education. We are solving the problem of artist blaming everyone else for their lack of knowledge when it comes to the business of music. We are most proud of the artist and producers that we have assisted going far in the industry and not having horror stories about them being taken advantage of when it comes to the business. We have recently changed our business model to consultation for the clients because we discovered that a lot of people learn better by having a “real person” to speak with about what is currently happening in their career.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
My (Antoine) best advice for managing a team and maintaining high morale is to always keep your word with your team. Next, stand firm on your “Yes’s and No’s”. I find that a best practice to always stay open to learning from your team. Finally, reward and coach the team when there is a lesson to learn in all situations.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
For months my brother and I researched before we launched thecollegeofhip.org everything was going great. Then right after we launched, a website with a similar name popped up. Of course we were a bit upset but we handled it the business way with a “Cease and Desist” letter. The great thing about networking in our field is we ended up having a mutual associate with the owner of the other sit. Finally, we were all able to get on a phone call and see how we could work together to highlight both websites because we didn’t have the same business model so it all worked itself out in the end.
