We recently connected with Antoine Hart and have shared our conversation below.

Antoine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?

I believe that the biggest challenge to profitability is knowing your worth and being confident in your skills. I’ve seen countless photographers undervalue themselves by charging way less than other photographers; mainly because they feel as if people won’t pay a certain amount for photographer services. As a photographer, we all struggled with pricing our services in the beginning. But once you feel that work skills and customer services are of quality standards, your rates should reflect that. You may lose a couple of customers, but you’ll also gain a whole new market. Because no one wants a cheap photographer.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

It’s funny how I got into the photography business. As a teenager, I always respected photography, mainly because one of my best friends always had a camera around him whenever we hung out in our neighborhood. Another friend of my mine had bought a camera to do music videos( I use to work in a recording studio as an audio engineer). The camera was in my possession majority of the time. So little by little i was just learn about the camera from books to YouTube videos and everything in between. After a while, i thought to myself “I could really do something with this”. So that’s how I got started in photography.

I specialize in portraits, but I also shoot weddings, events and video. One of the best parts of being a photographer in opinion and seeing the clients reaction when I show them photo I just captured. I love seeing their smiles and the joy.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

My best source of new clients is word of mouth. I do get traffic to my site and inquiries through social media. But the majority of my new clients come from people that I’ve worked with before recommending me

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)

NFTs seems kind of silly to me just like bitcoin. But who knows, maybe one day it will change everything
