We caught up with the brilliant and insightful AnthonyRayShane a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi AnthonyRayShane, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

I’m a believer of if you do what u truly love and can make a living out of it, you’ve reached a level of success that most people can only dream about. I base my success on several key factors, high quality professional output, and increased production. I feel as if I can positively impact another person’s life by a service I provide, the feeling/charge I get from that is Success!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is Anthony Ray Shane, and my Brand is AnthonyRayShane. I identify as a New Kind of Artist. I am from Boston Massachusetts and currently live in Oceanside California, I moved to California in 2002 and have been building my photography skills since 2006. I rebranded myself during Covid and work mostly from my Phone or Laptop. I dabble in all kinds of creative digital art projects. I have a lot of experience with photography, flyer design, creating beautiful photo products, video slideshows with music, recorded photo edits, photo editing,, social media presence and I excel in networking , I truly love people, so much that I often under charge for my services. My business is Love-centric.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

My favorite marking story…. definitely would be how I approach people, I’m big on business cards, I believe it’s a business staple, It’s a low cost way to engage with perspective clients. I have risked my life trying to get an opportunity to photograph for my portfolio. California has so many beautiful people and locations…..I’ve learned to always be prepared to network by having business cards on me at all times.

While walking around town I will see a hot person and do whatever it takes to introduce myself as a photographer and to give my business card to them. Hopefully they contact me that day and we book a photoshoot. I’ve given cards to people waiting at a stoplight before, I always fear rejection, but the people I approach are worth my efforts

Every story is similar, and I don’t feel comfortable singling out people…..everyone I’ve met I highly value and I am grateful for; but trust me on the business cards.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Cloud Storage. It’s a game changer!
