We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Williams Jr recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?
When I started my videography company, I thought that my friends and family would always be first in line for anything they need as far as video. Then I see friends that I thought would come to me go would go to someone else for services I can provide. And most of the time they would be upset if they chose someone else lol so I just let the universe lead the way for me. I know a stranger would support me more than the people who are close to you… and it’s ok. Because they will see the growth.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Oddy Visuals is a growing media company serving primarily to the Dallas Fort Worth Metropolitan. With over 5 years of experience, I have shot and edited over 150+ videos. It includes planning, production, post production and distribution.
I’m really impressed on how I’ve progressed over the years as far the quality of work I’ve been putting out. With the knowledge I’ve gained I can be able to learn more and continue to grow within the videography realm.
You guys can check out my work on all social media platforms, mainly YouTube!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn to take criticism. I’ve always thought I have the best work. And when someone tells me something they would’ve helped me in the long run I would get upset and discouraged at times.
But it has helped me grow a lot, and I’m very grateful of those moments.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Content. Content. Content. Consistency to push as much content out as you can. Nobody’s gonna see your progress unless you show your work.
And networking is key also! You never know who you may run into and can change your life.
