Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Toles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation; we’ve shared it below.
Appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
In 2017, we took the leap of faith to work for ourselves, you start our own business. Leaving the “safety net” and “job security” of corporate and going off to uncharted territory and the unknown. We started with my wife’s expertise support services including but not limited to: case/care management patient advocacy care coordinator, vocational services including vocational evaluations, labor market surveys, life care plannings which is a living document projecting costs associated with individual over the course of their life, and lastly litigation support and expert witness testimony we have work on hundreds of cases to-date. Our staff is nationally board certified and we have open and active contracts at the local, state, and federal levels. We are locally owned and operated but work outside of FL as well, we have contracts throughout the states with Department of Labor in Alaska, Bureau of Workers Compensation in Ohio, and we also work with the Social Security Administration, just to name a few. We pivot in new directions and tried different things some offerings work some didn’t, but we kept trying. We learned a lot through trial and error. We took a bet on ourselves, and WON! We are the new people on the block and are still fighting but brand recognition and to let people know we are here we are the best kept secret in FL.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Husband, Father, Entrepreneur. I had 12 years+ career in Information Technology working in both the public and private sectors. I have a beautiful wife of 13 years and 4 amazing children. I am an Advit reader and have a heart of service. I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with family and traveling. We are heavily involved in our community and sponsor area teams. Pouring into our kids and watching them grow and blossom is my passion. Being raised in a single-family household with my mother and no siblings was tough growing up but it made me stronger. I hope to change the narrative, be the father I didn’t have at the time and build something greater than myself and sow seeds for generational wealth.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For us it’s, Word of mouth, Great customer service, networking organizations, Chamber of Commerce, publications like this one. We are still a work in progress and working to grow in certain areas. It’s hard to gain market share and build reputation but we have been fortunate to make some quality connections. Quality over quantity. We recently began podcasting to widen our audience “Community Corner” a platform to reach and touch the people and discuss all thing resource center and within the community. There is no shortage of hometown heroes and most of our heros don’t where caps. We want to speak with the people whom serve and we services. This is the information age so there are many different avenues to reach people we are available on most social media platforms as well, Facebook, IG, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube etc… We have an online presence by way of our websites such as www.aj84holdings.org…
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
These have been trying times for us all, and we are in this together. We have seen some current events unlike any other generation has seen in quite some time. We have had our share of turmoil to include various setbacks, housing crisis, inflation, recession, pandemic, unemployment, pivoting, fear of uncertainty etc…. We are no different than many of your readers. We take things as they come one step at a time. And we take things head on.
Just keep push through it all, remember your “why” your motivation. It just takes one yes, never give up. Our story isn’t finished yet, we are just getting started.
