We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Telles recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Ever since I was young I always wanted to pursue a creative and artistic career. In third grade I had a teacher and her name was Ms. Olsen where she motivated me to draw and always encouraged my creativity.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was born in California and moved to Colorado when I was young. As an Artist, I enjoy incorporating a raw and gestural technique in my artwork. The rawness and gestural style I use align with my imperfections. I don’t strive for perfection in my skills and prefer to highlight the imperfections because I believe they add character to my work and me. I want to create something unique that is aesthetically powerful and represents my thought process. I am grateful for the opportunities that Colorado has provided me with, as I believe living in California would have altered my path and I may not have pursued the arts in the same way that I am now. Living in Colorado provided my practice in arts and now I continue to progress in what I love doing, which is creating art and maintaining a business where I get to sell my art on products such as T-shirts, posters, hoodies, and more.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
As a creative artist, the most rewarding part of my work is witnessing people’s reactions to my artwork and the ability to connect with it. Witnessing others appreciate my hard work and dedication brings a sense of fulfillment. It demonstrates that I was able to evoke a reaction and convey a message through my art.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to create as much as I can in my lifespan and wish to have my artwork be seen across the world. Having a community and being noticed for my talents.
