We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Sisson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
In 2019 all I know is I wanted to do something with a camera. It could’ve been anything I just wanted to do something. In high school I did mess around with photography but the passion didn’t hit me until I went Georgia State. After watching all them automotive videos, seeing automotive photography, and going to small car meets I found out what I wanted to do. Since then I been doing it. My first year of college I saved up enough money to buy my first camera which is still the only camera I use as of now the Sony A7iii. While I did attend GSU for Film and media an earned a degree in it. Everything I learned was from networking with creators like me on the outside in the field. My first 3 years was me learning the ropes of my new found passion. After that i gained somewhat of a good traction in Atlanta and the surrounding southeast region.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Honestly I can’t really remember how exactly I got into the field since it’s been a long time. But my name is Anthony but I also go by DISPOST.JP because of my page where I post all my content on. My business consists of Photography/Videography with the primary focus on Automotive with a little Lifestyle, streetwear, and graduation photos just to name a few. I can honestly say what sets me apart from others is my energy when it comes to tackling projects. I’m a perfectionist most times it’s a good thing sometimes it’s a bad thing. I’ll admit I had some slip ups throughout years where I did under delivered to clients but instead of letting that define me
I still always find a way to make sure the clients come out satisfied in the end. What I proud of the most is all the people I met throughout the years some clients actually became really close friends of mines which lead me to big opportunities, for example I filmed the entire process of T Pain drift car getting wrapped. I’m all about adventure when it comes to my small business because every shoot I do can lead me somewhere that I never thought I’ll be.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
COLLABORATING! I can’t stress this enough especially on Instagram. Use that feature because not only it’s an opportunity to put your work out there. But it’s a chance you can get seen by a potential new client that can change the trajectory of your business.
Always schedule your post! Take a look at your algorithm ,your performance dashboard find out what time is best for you to post. Posting at the right time can increase the engagement that your post or page get.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
For me is actually reaching out to clients on social media or attending events. Networking is KEY especially in the field. Not only that you gaining new potential clients from it but you also learn a lot of new things from potential clients and fellow Creators that’s in your field.
