Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Sisson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Anthony thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
At first I didn’t know where to start. My brother gave me one of his old cameras and I started to take pictures and shoot some small videos in high school of random classmates and some stuff for JROTC. After awhile I decided I wanted to pursue a career in the creative/entertainment industry. At first I started with photography, I ended up discovering my “niche” of doing automotive work when I attended my first Caffeine & Octane a monthly car show that’s hosted on the first Sunday of every month. Slowly but steady I been getting better at developing my creative medium of photography and soon videography over the past 3 years I gained over 700+ followers on Instagram, and work with many different clients and models within that time span. But this didn’t come to me easy, it was hard when it comes to learning what I know such as gear, obtain new clients, and creating fresh new ideas. What really helped me move from the idea to actually taking that step into launching the name I made for myself was from the inspiration of 2 automotive videographers that’s based in Australia who go by the names of Hartnett Media and Dated.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I really got my big start in this field by attending small car meets and big cars shows in the southeast region primarily in Atlanta. At first I was doing photo and video content for automotive enthusiasts for free as a way to build my name and gain a following before I attempt to do paid work. What sets me apart from other in my field is knowing how to direct and bringing new ideas from imagination to being filmed and edited. What I’m mostly proud of is the connection and relationship I build with fellow photographers, videographers, and clients in my field of work. I take pride in my work I believe I’m delivering the best experience that I possibly can for my clients or fans of my work to enjoy.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My future goal that keeping me going is becoming a Film Director. I’m not sure where to start but I know I will do what it takes to get there.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my presence by attending local car meets and shows that’s in the surrounding area of Atlanta. But my advice for people that’s getting started in this field is be social and interactive with your surroundings. Network with people that share similar goals as you that way you can learn and bring something new to your business.
