Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Mobley Jr . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Anthony , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I launched my business in 2019 during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic which was extremely tough. The name of my Agency is “Mobley Marketing 19” many people questioned if the number 19 was related to the pandemic. The answer is NO, My birthday is January 19th, and the number 19 is my favorite number so “Mobley Marketing 19” represents my family name and the day I was born 1/19. That is MM19 was born in 2019 during COVID-19 but definitely not the reasoning of the name of my business.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’m the youngest of 2, I have an older sister we’re a couple years apart. My parents were high school sweethearts and have been together for over forty years. I am very family oriented, my grandfather was a business owner when my father was a young child, he had a dairy delivery business where he delivered groceries to people who were immobile. I remember as a young child going along on the egg route in Philadelphia helping my father and grandfather make deliveries to the elderly. My father also owned a business called “Wings To Go” a food franchise that had the Best wings around! I worked under him and my mother as a child learning the day to day operations of business. My grandfather started a Dry Cleaning business over 20 years ago my uncle recently took over for my grandparents. Business has been apart of my DNA before I was born, working closely with my family I learned the importance of customer service and how to run and operate a successful business. After high school I worked for a company that made electric scooters for the mobility impaired. I was one of the companies top performers and was inducted in their “Presidents Club” earning the company over 1 million dollars in sales. I then realized I had a gift for sales and marketing that I developed when I moved to Atlanta in 2015 to work for a new cosmetic company as the marketing director. I don’t know much about makeup but I do know marketing and branding. My mentor made me aware of the importance of branding myself as a marketing professional. That was the birth of Mobley Marketing 19. I am a very spiritual person and I know God has a calling over my life and business. As a young child I was always gifted and was voted “Most Popular” senior year. Marketing and Public Relations acquire similar skills being personable, creative, and popular. The industry embraced me and saw my unique skills and talent that MM19 brings to the industry. Last year my agency reached over 248 million people from being shared by celebrities in the industry that has shown me a tremendous outpouring of love. My first year of business I went through a phase of discouragement because no one would share, like, or support MM19. I stayed steadfast and continued to posts and a year later people I look up to and have watched on television were sharing Mobley Marketing 19 with their followers which I will forever be grateful for the love they showed. It cost nothing to share or like a post, but it means the world to a small business owner like myself from a small town in South Jersey who is beginning to make a mark in the industry and across the globe. I recently became the Marketing Manager for “The Black Men Reign Honors” which is an award show honoring minorities in the industry and community for making a positive difference in the world. It is only the beginning for MM19! 2023 is going to be the year for ME! Winning is a choice, choose wisely! Mobley Marketing 19 is the future of Marketing, Branding, PR and your Networking Choice! My creativity can not be duplicated MM19 is definitely the person you want at your event and sharing and promoting your event! I give every project I work with a touch of class, professionalism, and excellence!

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I come from a middle class family, that works hard for everything they have. I wasn’t born poor, however I wasn’t born rich either. My parents instilled in my sister and I too work for what we wanted in life no handouts. I never received any loans or had any investors for Mobley Marketing 19. 3 years ago I started a job at Amazon, took a course to become OSHA:30 certified and became a Safety Building Manager. I paid to get my certification and I also paid to build my business from the ground up. I walked away from Amazon in 2021 and have solely been putting my all in my business. Their is no plan B only Plan A which is to Win. It has not been easy but with God I have been extremely blessed with opportunities I would have never imagined. I manifest that MM19 is one contract away from my life and the lives of my loved ones being forever changed. I believe that and know that will happen very soon!

Any fun sales or marketing stories?

When I first moved to Atlanta in 2015. and was brought on as the marketing director for “Nerd Cosmetics” the day I arrived was the day of one of the biggest Expos in Atlanta “The Bronner Brothers Show” thousands of people from all over the world come to this expo every year in Atlanta, GA. My mentor had a conference to attend across town and left me at our vendor booth alone, I wasn’t expecting on my first day of work and in Atlanta I would be left alone at one of the biggest Events in the city and on the job without help being from a small country town in South Jersey I never experienced anything of this magnitude before. I was extremely nervous and thought my mentor would be with me to train and guide me. I was highly mistaken. She said I will be back in 5 hours, here’s the company pamphlets and left. As I wiped sweat from my head I said a prayer and knew it was sink or swim time I reviewed the pamphlet took a deep breath and started to speak to people about makeup as if I wore makeup my whole life lol. No one would have known i felt like a fish out of water the way i spoke with confidence and firmly believed I was made for the job and when my mentor returned all the pamphlets were gone and I gained new customers for the makeup brand and several potential clients. I knew then that I was in the right career field.
