We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anthony Lightz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My ultimate mission is to help people “see”. To open their eyes to a world that exists beyond our physical senses!
My overall drive for this mission is authenticity. You might think to yourself, how do you get to living authentically through helping people “see” a world that is unseeable by the physical senses? Hopefully a brief overview of my story will help you understand.
When was young I had many odd experiences! The most influential was seeing my grandmother stand at the foot of my bed a year after she passed! Amongst that and other experiences, I was attracted to magical things like crystals and candles! Movies like The Craft and Tv shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer were my favorite. I was a weird kid! (I now understand that in the best way! ) Unfortunately, there were many aspects of my personality that led to me to being put into a box. I grew up in a pretty conservative area. I was told that my crystals would send me to hell, that I was being girly when I wanted to play with dolls, and made to feel that emotions are weak! Like so many young people, I was brought up with thought processes that didn’t align with who I truly am! Although I never really stopped liking the things that I liked, I did suppress a huge part of myself. The connection to this other world that I discovered when my grandmother came to me.
As I went through life, I started to uncover aspects about myself the led me further and further out of that box! It wasn’t until I started to reconnect to that unseen world that I was able to jump completely out. Developing my connection to what I now call the world of spirit helped to understand that there is a much bigger picture! That the proverbial chains that I was bound with were not necessary! This connection helped me to over come fears and step into my authenticity so hard that the Universe had no choice to but to align with me! That’s that happens when you live authentically. You show the Universe that you are worthy of receiving what you are designed to receive!
Through reading, teaching and sharing my story I hope help people “see” so that they too can grasp this bigger picture that brought me to where I am now! I know no one will have the same experience, but if I can help even one person step into their authenticity through my work, I will have succeeded!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Anthony. I am a psychic medium living in the St. Petersburg area of Florida!
As you read in the beginning, my passion for the magical/spiritual world has been with me since I was a little boy! I was absolutely that “weird“ kid. Around 12 years old, I had my first Spirit visitor. My grandmother, who had passed a year prior, came to me as I was falling asleep one night. It was without a doubt that I knew who this figure made of fuzzy light was standing at the foot of my bed. I wasn’t scared at all. I felt loved. This seems to be common amongst mediums and I am no exception! I had kept this experience to myself for most of my life, aside from very few people, but I feel it is a VERY important part of my journey and sharing seems equally important! This, I believe, was the seed that sprouted into who I am today. Later in life, my aunt gifted me my first tarot deck, launching me into a powerful journey deeper into this beautiful world then I ever thought I would go! Like many if not all people who walk this path, I work through Spirit, with Spirit and for Spirit. I heard this saying from the amazing John Holland and knew instantly that was what I was doing! So I had to add it! Thank you, Mr. Holland for that perspective. Although I have been on my developmental path for over a decade, I feel my growth still continues and will always continue!
With my experience as a psychic medium and in divination through cartomancy, the pendulum, and a unique art that I call an “aura rendering,” I have been able to help many people connect to loved ones who have passed and understand the messages that Spirit, as a whole, has for them! I am now teaching the same development skills that I use to those who are interested in learning! My goal is to help people see. See that there is more than this physical world, that life doesn’t stop with our physical body’s and our loved ones who have passed are still with us, and ultimately that we are fully and without question allowed to live authentically as who we are!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I love this question! In the past year especially, I have had to deconstruct my ideas of measuring success!
What I do is taboo! It’s not a typical path that many take as a career! Meeting so many new friends this year really made me feel like I was doing something wrong! I was seeing these people who went to school, graduated, got the good job and made the good money! This made me feel like I was spinning my wheels! I was measuring success solely around financial abundance. It sounds so mundane and ego based for me to care so much about this, but this put me into such a scarcity mindset! Balancing the need for financial abundance with the desire to serve is something that I strive to keep at the forefront of my mind. I was thinking, I always put the service first! I work so hard, why do I feel like I’m not successful! After a lot of spiraling I realized that I wasn’t looking at myself. I was only looking at others and what they had. When I turned that perception around and looked at myself, I realized I had no reason to be in a that mindset. I learned that success is measurable by more than money! I am successful because what I want to be doing I AM doing! And what I am doing is fulfilling and it helps others! I am successful, because of where I brought myself financially vs where I was! I understand that more success is to come, but in this moment I am so successful!
Stop measuring your success by just by how much money you make! Believe it or not that is one part of successful business!
To unlearn that lesson has helped me to break out of the scarcity mindset and helped me to stop comparing myself to others! My journey is so different from everyone else’s! That is more than ok, it’s amazing!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth! Which I feel is the BEST source for new clients! Word of mouth is such a testament to my validity in what I do! It lets me know that I am truly making a difference!
The best way to build a good word of mouth clientele is to perform the service that you do with and unwavering desire to help others! Put service first! The rest will follow!
