We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Lewis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony , thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At Next Chapter Coaching, my mission is to help people release the weight of past hurts, rediscover their inner strength, and embrace the next chapter to their lives with courage and excitement. But this mission isn’t just a business statement – it’s deeply personal.
For years, I carried my own share of heavy chapters. I knew what it felt like to navigate uncertainty, loss, and change without a clear map forward. The turning point came when a mentor saw something in me I couldn’t yet see in myself. Through compassion, honest reflection, and practical guidance, they helped me step into a vision of my life I hadn’t dared to imagine. That experience ignited a fire in me – I wanted to be that same source of light for others.
My mission is deeply personal because I know what it feels like to face seasons of uncertainty, pain, and change – and to wonder if there’s truly a way forward. I’ve seen how a guiding hand, a compassionate heart, and a space to be heard can transform fear into courage. That’s why I’m committed to meeting people exactly where they are, walking beside them as they navigate their own transitions. It’s about more than coaching; it’s about helping people feel seen, valued, and capable of stepping into the life they were meant to live.
Every coaching conversation is about more than problem-solving; it’s about helping people see themselves not as stuck in a closing chapter, but as the author of the next one. I’ve seen firsthand the transformation that happens when someone realizes they are capable of more than they thought – and it’s the most inspiring work I could imagine doing.
Every client I work with is unique, and their story matters. My mission isn’t to hand them answers, but to help them uncover the strength and clarity already within them – so they can take ownership of their journey, make empowered choices, and create a life that feels true to who they are.
This mission matters to me because I know what it’s like to stand at the crossroads, unsure of which way to turn. And I also know the power of having someone walk beside you until you find your way. My purpose it to be that someone.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Anthony Lewis, the founder of Next Chapter Coaching, where my passion is helping people navigate life’s turning points with clarity, courage, and confidence. My path into coaching wasn’t something I stumbled into – it was born from lived experience. I’ve faced my own seasons of uncertainty, reinvention, and growth, and I know how overwhelming change can feel when you’re standing on the edge of the unknown. A mentor once helped me see that those moments weren’t endings – they were beginnings. That realization sparked a deep desire to help others experience that same shift.
I became a trained coach to guide individuals through transitions – whether that’s a career change, recovering from personal setbacks, or simply feeling stuck and ready for something more. My work blends compassionate listening with actionable strategies, empowering clients to not only envision their “next chapter” but to actively create it.
What sets Next Chapter Coaching apart is the balance of heart and strategy. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter advice. Every person has a unique story, and my role is to meet them where they are, help them uncover their own strengths, and chart a path forward that truly fits their life. My clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and supported in a way they haven’t before. That connection – where trust is built and transformation begins – is at the heart of everything I do.
I’m most proud of seeing my clients reclaim their confidence and take bold steps toward the lives they’ve always wanted. Watching someone go from feeling stuck and uncertain to feeling empowered and excited is why I do this work.
If there’s one thing I want potential clients to know, it’s this: you are capable of more than you realize. Your story isn’t over, and your future can be brighter than your past. My mission is to walk beside you as you step into that future – with clarity to see the way forward and courage to take the next step.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story that stands out for me is the season when I was transitioning out of the military and into civilian life. Like many veterans, I carried not only the weight of starting over professionally but also the challenge of redefining who I was outside of a uniform. I went from being part of a structured system with clear direction to suddenly standing in front of a wide-open, uncertain future.
It was disorienting, and there were times I questioned my worth and my path. But instead of letting that uncertainty paralyze me, I leaned into it. I committed to growth – seeking mentorship, taking risks, and learning to trust myself again in a brand-new environment. That resilience didn’t mean I never felt fear or doubt; it meant I kept moving forward in spite of them.
That chapter not only shaped me as a person but also inspired my mission at Next Chapter Coaching. It taught me that resilience isn’t about never falling – it’s about how you rise, recalibrate, and continue toward a future that feels authentic and meaningful.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that asking for help was a sign of weakness. For much of my life, I thought strength meant carrying everything on my shoulders, proving I could handle it all alone. That mindset served me in some ways, especially in environments where toughness was expected, but it also left me isolated when I needed support the most.
The turning point came when I was building my business and navigating major life transitions of my own. I realized that growth happens in connection – that we are not meant to walk every path by ourselves. Seeking guidance, leaning on mentors, and opening up to trusted people actually took more courage than staying silent.
Unlearning that old belief freed me. It allowed me to show up with more authenticity, to build stronger relationships, and to create a coaching practice rooted in compassion and collaboration. Now, one of the messages I share most often with my clients is that asking for help isn’t weakness – it’s wisdom. It’s one of the most powerful steps you can take toward transformation.
