Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Jara. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Anthony , thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
Legacy is what it’s all about. To make an impact on various industries and the world that will last much longer than our lifetime. We digest information and entertainment so fast that Legacy has really become one of the most integral parts of our mission. As an Entrepreneur & Creative across various fields and spaces our goal as Full Scale JC is to take our brand not only State-Wide but Global! We want to be remembered as ground breaking and innovative along the lines of Levi’s,Tesla,,The Beatles Etc. This business will live on for 100s of years after we are gone !

Anthony , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I would firstly like to thank Canvas Interviews and Jon Tucker From Limbo NYC for the Recommendation. My Name is AJ and I am the founder and owner of Full Scale JC/ENT. I am an entrepreneur from North New Jersey. Full Scale JC is my life’s work and we are a company that specializes in all things rare and exclusive from Vintage Clothing to Exotic Snacks and everything in between + we are now venturing into the Music and Entertainment Space.
My Business has been operating for about 5 years as of this past May. I have a very extensive retail background as I worked for Gap INC as a Store Manager for over 6+ years (pre Kanye haha). My journey in fashion and business started as young as I can remember, about the 1st grade I would say, which sounds crazy but is the honest truth.
As far as I can remember I always found my identity and sense of expression with fashion. I remember picking out my first day outfit for school almost every year, it was the highlight of every school year for me. Fashion, especially in the urban space is so big for us because we can express how we feel and if you look good you feel good. Now with that being said of course fashion as a business didn’t start for me until my adult years.
I remember in high school dabbling in reselling clothes the first thing I ever resold was a North Face steep-tech baby blue jacket that I had got on a Black Friday sale at Against All Odds one year. That was a crucial point for me , it sparked off something in my head that honestly would be the catalyst for my business in the future.
Fast forward a few years to me working retail as my first real job with Gap Inc is where I really came into fashion and the root of my business motto and plan. I worked my way up from a sales associate to a store manager , I was one of the youngest managers at that time and I worked in a very high volume store which honestly prepared me for what was to come.
In 2017 I did my first Vintage Pop Up Shop in Paterson NJ at the Art Factory. It was that day that altered my life as I would know it forever. Fast forward a few months, precisely 2 months later I had put in my two weeks notice with my job at Gap Inc and that is when I began my entrepreneurship.
From 2017-2023 our business has been operating at some of the most exclusive stores in the tri-state area and we are only looking to expand! We have evolved from a simple vintage clothing shop to an all around experience with collectibles + Streetwear + designer and now exotic snacks. We have our own merch line which I design and get manufactured myself and we have worked with a lot of artists in the music industry mostly Hip Hop and R&B from the likes of Sleepy Hallow, Rowdy Rebel, Sheff G, Eli Fross & Fivio Foreign. Which leads us into our new venture Full Scale ENT which we are providing styling and event/show coordination and marketing as well ;for up and coming as well as our own artists we will be signing.
To conclude this overview of our company I would to quote the great Nelson Mandela
“A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.”
Thank you guys for your time AJ Full Scale JC

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
At the core of any good business is simply that good business. Conduct good business and your reputation will reflect that. You have to put in the ground work be willing to sacrifice a lot of things for your reputation because ultimately your name is all you got that also ties back into legacy. Not only were we one of the first vintage sellers to begin partnering with local shops to supply product and diversify their demographic we were doing it at such a high level. Cross marketing is key and also taking accountability for mistakes or any shortcomings especially as a boss.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The first time I really had to pivot was around 1 one a half years into our business. The shop we were providing vintage for made a rash business decision and wanted to scale back into only selling sneakers again not due to anything that had to do with us directly. That was a blessing in disguise as I knew it would be because it catapulted us into the next chapter of our journey which was NYC. This was the most important move of our business.
