We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anthony Galizia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My story takes us back to the start of my career in the logistics industry working for a larger brokerage firm. Picture the scene: a young and hungry account manager on a relentless pursuit of results. I had just begun to scratch the surface of the FTL and drayage industries. This pivotal experience sparked the inception of Cargoleads.io.
While I was working on both FTL and drayage deals, a glaring disparity became apparent to me. While larger logistics corporations like the one I was with wielded robust lead generation and marketing arsenals, their smaller counterparts struggled to compete with creating similar marketing systems and lead generation channels. This realization struck a chord – the industry needed a solution that empowered small to medium sized asset-based carriers with the tools to level the playing field.
Simultaneously, as a co-owner of a web development company, I delved deep into the different strategies between marketing services and creating lead generation systems. This understanding birthed the vision for Cargoleads.io – a unique platform, offering a comprehensive CRM and marketing solution that empowers small to mid sized carriers to create more efficient sales channels.
Cargoleads.io emerged from a serious commitment to results, recognizing the profound challenges faced by asset-based carriers seeking quality leads and lucrative contracts. The frustration of carriers scouring for promising lanes became the driving force behind our mission.
Join us on this transformative journey because, in the world of logistics, we believe in redefining standards and creating a future where every asset-based carrier has the resources they need to thrive. Cargoleads.io isn’t just a solution; it’s a revolution waiting to unfold.

Anthony , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Anthony Galizia, the founder of Cargoleads.io, and my journey into the logistics industry has been a blend of passion, dedication, and a commitment to revolutionize how asset-based carriers navigate the challenges of lead generation and sales. Having spent significant time as a drayage broker in a large logistics firm, I gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of FTL and drayage industries.
At Cargoleads.io, we provide a unique blend of CRM and marketing solutions tailored for asset-based carriers. We recognized a crucial gap in the market – smaller logistics companies and carriers with their sales teams lacked the resources to compete on equal footing with their larger counterparts. That realization became the driving force behind Cargoleads.io, a platform designed to empower small to mid-sized carriers, offering them efficient tools to create robust sales channels.
Our proudest achievement is bridging the divide between the resources available to large corporations and those available to smaller players in the logistics industry. What sets us apart is our deep understanding of the challenges faced by asset-based carriers, and our commitment to providing a comprehensive solution that goes beyond conventional CRM platforms. With Cargoleads.io, we’re not just offering a service; we’re ushering in a new era in logistics where every carrier, regardless of size, has the resources to thrive.
I want potential clients to know that Cargoleads.io is more than a platform – it’s a partner in their success journey. Whether you’re a full truckload, drayage, or LTL carrier, our mission is to redefine industry standards, offering a future where every asset-based carrier has the tools they need to prosper.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
One of my favorite sales stories takes me back to my first big deal that I closed in the drayage department while working at the brokerage firm. I picked up a lead gen sales call off of our sales phone system and spoke with the head of supply chain at a large metal / scrap recycling plant out of Houston. Their need was pretty complicated. Part of their operation was shipping recycled materials over seas to their plants.
I was tasked with setting up lane rates, finding and sourcing reliable carriers, and negotiating a contract between the firm and the recycling company.
At the time, I had just finished my training and was eager to land a deal that involved a large quantity of loads on a weekly basis. With the help of my carrier sourcing specialist, we were able to find a trusted carrier to partner with.
I made it a priority to develop the relationship first and offer a fast turn around time along with competitive lane rates. We were able to land the contract and close the deal. I was very proud at the time and was excited to develop the relationship with our customer. That feeling of satisfaction when winning a contract or closing a load stuck with me. I couldn’t help but think to myself if it was not for the marketing and sales team working together, that lead would probably never have come across my desk. I became obsessed with figuring out how to source high quality leads like the recycling company.
Cargoleads offers carriers a chance to source their own leads whether they come directly through our lead generation services or through their own marketing campaigns built out internally through the cargoleads.io platform. For carriers looking to source their own leads or hire an agency to find qualified opportunities to quote lanes, Cargoleads is the platform for you!
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
What was originally a freelance side hustle, turned into much more and I could not be happier about it. Throughout life I like to think that all my work experience opportunities were preparing me for life as a business owner.
Having an entrepreneur mindset led me to starting a side hustle as a digital marketing freelancer taking on clients part time while also maintaining a full time career in logistics. Although I have a college degree in marketing and advertising, I took my education a step further and decided to learn some specialities in marketing such as SEO and website development.
While working full time in logistics, I had created a freelance marketing business. I was working with a company to manage their social media channels while learning SEO and how to build websites that generate leads. I saw a crucial need to pivot into a project based freelancer that delivered custom built websites and SEO campaigns.
As the need for custom built websites and an organic presence online grew for companies, I only got busier prompting the need for me to establish a legitimate business. Over the course the next 6 months I made a life changing decision to go full time in my web design business.
Fast forward to today and my experiences have blended perfectly to lead be to establish Cargoleads!
