We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Constantine recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Anthony thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time, I would have started my photography business so much sooner. There’s a lot of learning that comes from hindsight, and as much as I appreciate how everything has unfolded and all that I’ve learned so far in my career, I wish I had dived in fully earlier.
I started my career about ten years ago after spending a few years working for various corporate companies trying to figure out what I wanted to do after finishing college. When I started photographing weddings as a contractor at a venue full-time, I fell in love with it. I met some incredible couples and witnessed so many beautiful love stories. When I started my business I was a few years into my career as a wedding photographer. The idea of becoming a business owner and working for myself had always been there, in the back of my mind from the start, but I was constantly putting it off for reasons that seemed logical at the time: “I need more experience,”, “What if I fail?” or “I’m not sure if I’m ready.”
Looking back, I see now that I was overthinking things. The truth is, you will never feel 100% ready to start. Starting sooner, even if I wasn’t fully prepared, could have accelerated my growth in my knowledge of how to run a business, my style, and who I am creatively. It could have allowed me to build and forge relationships earlier with even more incredible vendors in town, like venues, planners, and florists. When photographing a wedding, even if you’re solo and it’s just you shooting on the day, you don’t work in isolation. So many people come together to make a couple’s day incredible, and having those relationships with other vendors you know and can count on is extremely important. The earlier you start, the more room you have to learn, grow, build relationships, and even fail, all of which are key to growth in your business.
Had I started earlier, I would have had more time to define my style, experiment, and fail forward. I’ve learned there’s no shortcut to the process, but the earlier you begin, the quicker you learn those lessons.
So, if I could go back, I would absolutely encourage myself and anyone else on the fence about whether they should start to just go for it and to jump all in.

Anthony, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello there! I’m Anthony Constantine, a wedding photographer based in Las Vegas with nearly a decade of experience shooting weddings full-time. My wedding photography journey started with a passion for storytelling. I’ve always loved capturing moments; those fleeting, genuine glances, the laughs, and all the little details that make up someone’s love story. Over the years, that passion turned into a business, and now, I get to do what I love every day.
What sets me apart and makes my approach different? For me it’s all about creating a relaxed environment where you can be yourselves, allowing the real moments of your day to shine. I aim to capture you and your loved ones as authentically as possible, especially in the moments when you’re so caught up in each other that you forget I’m even there. I also thrive on collaboration. A wedding day is a celebration of love, so I like working closely with couples to understand their vision and bring it to life in a way that feels true to who you are. I don’t want your day to feel like anyone else’s but yours.
What I’m most proud of? Hands down, it’s the trust my couples place in me. Being part of such an important day and knowing that the photos I capture will help them relive those memories for years is truly special. I’m also proud of creating an experience where couples feel at ease, so they can focus on being fully present and embrace their day.
For anyone considering working with me: know that this is not just a job for me; it’s a passion. I’m here to make your day as stress-free, fun, and memorable as possible. I want to capture your wedding in a way that feels vibrant, true to color, and most importantly, authentic to you. Ultimately, it’s all about making your day unforgettable and capturing photos that feel as real and emotional as the love you’re celebrating.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I learned photography first in high school on film then by going to college, and in my education, I was taught all about the technical rules; like the rule of thirds, perfect exposure, and the ideal composition. Early on in my career, I got so focused on these principles, thinking they were the key to great photography. But over time, I realized that art doesn’t always thrive in a box of technical rules. I had to unlearn that habit of always trying to follow the guidelines and allow myself the freedom to break the rules.
Sometimes, I still find myself getting hung up on the technical side, like making sure everything is perfectly lit or framed just so. But I’ve had to remind myself that some of the best photos come from moments where you throw the rulebook out the window and let creativity take the lead balancing between technical skill and artistic expression.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Building a strong reputation in any market revolves around two main factors for me: approachability and authenticity. I strive to enter every situation; whether it’s a wedding, client meeting, or corporate event—with a positive attitude and a willingness to help. It doesn’t matter if I’m working alongside other vendors, venues, or clients; being approachable and ready to go the extra mile has significantly contributed to my career and allowed me to forge long-lasting relationships. These relationships form the foundation of my reputation and have helped grow my brand over the years. I’ve found that when people feel supported, they are more likely to trust and refer you in the future.
Regarding my clients, authenticity has been crucial. I always prioritize being genuine to myself, which allows others to get a clear sense of who I am. It’s not about adopting a persona but rather being transparent and honest. Clients tend to connect more with that authenticity, and this philosophy has helped me establish strong relationships with those who resonate with my photography. Building solid relationships through helpfulness and being myself has been essential in creating a reputation in my industry that I’m proud of.
