Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Burnett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Anthony thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
When it comes to investing, I’ve experienced the ups and the downs. Later coming to a conclusion that both sides we’re and still are very much necessary if you want to grow as an individual or a business owner. Really trickling down to being able to take 100% accountability for whatever happens in your life. A simple concept I learned through trading cryptocurrency. “Anything that goes up must come down.” When things are in a decline it’s the perfect opportunity for a reset. If you can’t adapt with the current times, you’ll simply be left behind. Utilize the knowledge of past, present, and future to stay ahead. The best investment I’ve ever made was investing time into learning myself, the world, and the industries or answers I was seeking at the time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Tone, I’m the owner and founder of HESHMOB LLC based out of Las Vegas, NV. I was originally born in Kalamazoo, MI and moved to Las Vegas in 2007 at the age of 10. Ever since I moved here, I was immediately drawn to skateboarding. Reason for the brand formally being known as “HeshMob Skateboards” (2017-2021). The brand was very much influenced by hip hop, skate culture, and my artistic expression as a black man. Currently still keeping my roots attached but pushing more of a lifestyle brand inspired by my love for gangster culture and morality. Prior to opening any of my businesses I was also known as “Anthonyafro” or “Anthony Burnett Films”, photographer and videographer in the local skate, fashion, and hip-hop scenes.
I’m known as “Big Mf Tone ” the rapper/musician. I’ve had the opportunity of opening up with some of my former team members for artists such as Rich The Kid, Robb Banks, and Warhols just to name a few. I’ve actually never been booked for a show by myself as a solo artist, so I always took it upon myself to soak up the game I was seeing but not being told to pay attention to. I would book up and coming artists plus local acts, perform as an opener, and collect from the entire event every time. I never really cared much about being the most popular. I always wanted to be the facilitator of what’s going on. It was easier to keep things under control and have the vibe how I personally liked it.
In recent years I ventured off into the retail industry opening my first clothing boutique here in Las Vegas called “HESH QTRS”. When I tell you that was my breaking point of growth as a man and entrepreneur I mean it. I opened the store in 2021 and closed it in 2023. Still running strong 100% online today though. (HeshQtrs.Com) One of the best opportunities I’ve experienced that I let stress me a little too much when I had it but that’s just me taking accountability. My most bittersweet business venture by far to say the least.
Fast forward to today and I still operate all the entities above plus others. My latest venture is “The Hesh Agency” where I help other creatives learn how to scale and monetize their talent through healthy habits and confidence. I’m also the current director of sales for a few legal cannabis companies so you can say I made all my dreams come true.
My current plan is to restructure all of my businesses to run more automated, leaving me more time to create, teach, and be with the ones I cherish most. I’m not currently looking to open another retail boutique but something more for creatives of all niches so be on the lookout. I plan on building an unstoppable team of creatives who can do it by themselves but understand that we can get 10x the results if we come together. So, if you’re reading this and want to build something big contact me ASAP.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I always tell people that no one takes you seriously until you take yourself serious and I honestly believe that people who follow/ support me known that I live and die by my work. I wear my brand every day, post it every day, and talk about it every day. That goes for my other businesses/ ventures as well, they aren’t jobs they’re a part of my lifestyle/ ecosystem that I’ve created for myself. Consistency will always win in the long run. People are going to spend their money/ time where they feel most comfortable and its best if they don’t have to spend any time thinking about it. I post very frequent and talk in a tone that calls people out on their bs. When they think of something they need help with that I post about every day, who do you think they’ll reach out to first?

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
You can be ahead of the curve and sit on top of the wave or you can play catch up and ride the wave whenever it decides to come and risk getting wiped out.
