We recently connected with Anquanice Pleasant and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anquanice, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
During my healing journey, I faced a series of challenging setbacks, including the loss of a job, a loved one, and an impending eviction. It was a time of immense struggle and uncertainty, and I found myself searching for a solution that would help me break free from the cycle of hardship I seemed to be facing.
As I prayed and sought answers, a name kept echoing in my mind: “The Generation of Curse Breakers.” It felt like a calling, a powerful declaration that I could rise above the adversities in my life and ensure that no future generation in my family would have to endure similar hardships.
Inspired by this revelation, I decided to channel my experiences into something meaningful and impactful. I started “The Generation of Curse Breakers” as a podcast, aiming to create a platform where I could discuss topics close to my heart: mental health, financial well-being, and meaningful conversations that promote healing.
Through candid discussions on the podcast, I sought to break the stigma surrounding mental health, openly sharing my struggles and growth journey. I wanted to provide a space where others could feel heard, understood, and supported in their own battles.
As the podcast gained traction, I realized that I could expand the reach of my message even further. I wanted to create a tangible symbol of strength and resilience, something that people could wear proudly as a reminder of their own power to break free from the limitations placed upon them by their past or circumstances.
And so, “The Generation of Curse Breakers” evolved into a full-fledged clothing line. Each piece of apparel carried a meaningful message, embodying the spirit of breaking free from generational curses and embracing a path of healing and empowerment.
I knew that I was addressing crucial problems within society by destigmatizing mental health discussions and providing resources for financial well-being. The clothing line became a unique way to raise awareness about these issues and create a community of individuals united by their determination to overcome life’s challenges.
The excitement I felt for this endeavor was indescribable. I could see the potential to make a genuine difference in people’s lives, to spark conversations that mattered, and to offer support to those who had felt alone in their struggles.
“The Generation of Curse Breakers” became more than just a business venture; it was a movement rooted in resilience, empathy, and healing. It gave me purpose and a sense of fulfillment, knowing that I was contributing to a positive change in the world.
As the business grew, I never lost sight of my initial declaration: to break the cycle of hardships in my own life and those of my future generations. This mission fueled my determination to expand the reach of “The Generation of Curse Breakers” and to continue solving problems that matter most to people – their mental and financial well-being.
In every podcast episode and with every piece of clothing sold, I knew I was building a supportive community, a tribe of empowered individuals breaking free from the shackles of their past, and embracing a future of strength, healing, and hope.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into the podcast business by being afraid to speak up. I was not the type of person to always be in the front. I was always the behind-the-scenes person. So the podcast empowered me to have a voice to move forward and everything that I do, and being able to show people healthy conversation to tell people that I am going through this to. The clothing business was something that I’ve seen in my whole life. I always say my family has the best creativity when it comes to looking their best I wasn’t poor however, they were moments that they were things that I wanted that I was unable to get so I would try to make the things that I saw that I want it just so that I can have it so it was always a passion of mine. I was just so afraid to pursue it to generation a Curse breakers gave me that confidence that I needed.
What are makes me, proud of his how far the brand has went I never imagined that people listening to me in different countries would be such a big impact nor have I ever imagined people still today is what day wearing my brand, and it definitely puts a smile on my face every time that I see it being consistent has been in a huge problem of mine, but even when I can’t be consistent due to me, having a chronic illness people still support and that is what I love so much about this journey
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience off of transparency. Me going into Facebook groups that do podcasts and sharing my link and getting feedback has been the greatest thing that I could’ve ever done for my business. Share my experiences and my voice across nations have been an amazing journey. I always tell business honest, the best way to build your audience is to be what you want in reciprocation to your business, transparency is what wins the heart these days is enough fake lives being showed on social media being authentic will gain you the followers that you need
If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
