We were lucky to catch up with Anosh Vaswani recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anosh, thanks for joining us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
My first client was an insurance agent in Phoenix for a lead generation campaign. When I started my company initially, my first offer was SEO services for small businesses. I learned that while small businesses needed SEO not many had the appetite to invest for 6 – 8 months to see the results. I was really going after solopreneurs and 2 – 3 employee-type businesses with a limited marketing budget. I decided to pivot and offer lead generation through Facebook ads. I had the experience of using Facebook ads in my previous job but I had never done it for other industries. In order to overcome the objection of having no history, I offered a 2-week trial and asked the client to just cover the ad spend. Once I started the campaign, I got my first lead in 4 hours, which was the biggest thrill as I had the lead answer 12 questions to ensure they were truly interested. Even before the trial was over the client had paid for one month’s retainer and was ready to go. I met my client at a networking event. I had seen him 3 – 4 times before he finally agreed to do the trial.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I went to school for marketing and received my BA in Marketing from California State University, Fullerton in 2006. I worked as a marketing manager/director for various companies, mainly B2C with retail locations. After getting laid off from a job in 2017 I decided to strike out on my own and start my own marketing agency. Every business is looking for instant clients, which is why I decided to focus on lead generation. I used my skill set of getting targetted results by using FB ads and delivering leads to clients. After about a year, I also introduced automated follow-up via email and text to ensure each lead was getting followed up and we were ensuring our clients were closing more business. We set ourselves apart from others by not only generating leads but also starting a conversation with the lead. Our business model is not to have any contracts, because if we are not making you money every single month, you should have the option to fire us without any repercussions. It feels great to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals by using my marketing skills. We are proud to be an affordable and effective solution for anyone looking to grow their business.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Our best source of new clients is referrals for us. We deliver verifiable results each month, with no long-term contracts which are very rare in our industry. Most agencies will lock you in with long-term contracts but we do not see any reason to do so. Once we start working with a client and delivering a massive return on investment they start telling their friends and family about us, which is the best compliment you can receive. We once had a client who had 3 businesses with her husband. She came to us looking for help with one business and after 3 months she had us working on the other 2 businesses too. For anyone looking to grow, they should focus on delivering overwhelming value and the word will spread itself.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The key to building an audience is being authentic. If you entertain or educate your audience in a meaningful way you will be able to find your crew. You have to give more value than taking from others. If you have a servant leader mentality you will soon attract a like-minded audience. A lot of folks try to tackle multiple social media channels all at once, I recommend picking one and mastering it which leads to organic growth on other channels. Do not get swayed by the latest trend. Find with your dream audience hangs out and go start building meaningful relationships.
