Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Annysa Cruz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Annysa, appreciate you joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
There was definitely a defining moment in my career that change the trajectory. I had been a personal trainer for almost 8 years and my entire career people would tell me that I should be a motivational speaker, because of the way I would speak during my classes/sessions. One day I was training my client in 2020 and she told me she had a life coach and I was so fascinated by that. I had always been into self development, and wanted a coach, but I didn’t know where to find one. So I asked if she could share her coaches info and I sat with that coach (who later became my coach) and she told me right away that I was meant to be a life coach. She helped me get my first program off the ground and the rest is history!!

Annysa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am 32 years old, mexican and filipino. I grew up in the san fernando valley my entire life. I always knew I wanted to help people but growing up I had zero idea how I would do that. I ended up getting a bunch of jobs and going to community college right after high school. One of my jobs was a front desk girl at a small private gym. I ended up falling in love with lifting and at the time my boss told me that we needed women trainers so he was going to train me and become one. 8 years later as I was trying to figure out how to take my career to the next level, I have always been into self development and had wanted my own business/life coach then I found one through my client, that coach helped me discover my purpose and trained me to become a life coach. I now run a 6 month online life coaching program with 22 women, where I help them rediscover their power to go after whatever they want in life. They have created the most safe space for one another to be seen, feel heard, and valued! As a coach I am most passionate about helping women find community because I know that us a s women are stringer together, and we cannot heal on our own. We come together and I encourage them to be vulnerable because that is were the most special and intimate relationships are born. I am most proud of that, that I have created the space for dozens of women to have community and thrive in it.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think that one of the things that has been most helpful for succeeding has been therapy. I have had to unlearn and discover things about myself and the way that I am which in turn has helped me have more compassion for others and my clients. I can see problems more clearly and through a different lens because I have done the work. I understand that we all have trauma and things that we’ve gone through that shapes our perspective, but when you get to know yourself and become more self aware we can change and become better.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
absolutely, I don’t think I would even change how it all happened. Everything truly happens in divine timing and I am exactly where I am supposed to be!
