We were lucky to catch up with Annette Moon recently and have shared our conversation below.

Annette, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

My latest project is by far the most meaningful. It’s a music television show called Spore Tv where I interview bands & film their live performances. The show also includes animations & short films, all written & produced by myself. I’m excited to start featuring other local visual artists, as the vision is to collect as much local talent as possible & feature them on my strange, “late night television” style show. It is the most meaningful project because it feels most in alignment with my passion. Music is everything to me, so to blend that with my personal craft of filmmaking feels very special. Spore Tv is about ART THAT LASTS & is inspired by a time where the world was not readily accessible in the palm of our hands. It’s about savoring art & going slow, as well as the anticipation & waiting for new episodes. We air every other Saturday on YouTube / Instagram.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Annette Moon Photography was born from the ashes of Rosco’s Coffee, a cafe that I owned for several years. When it closed, I decided to jump into my passion full time which is photography. I specialize in conceptual art & band photography, including live shows. What sets me apart is my intuitive approach. I’m not afraid to take risks & will ALWAYS make you look famous. You can feel the passion in my photos & they are very honest. I strive to take the best photo ever taken, every time, and I do it with love.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Being myself, completely. Not second guessing or overthinking. Disregarding trends. Pioneering in fresh, new styles. I’ve given permission to those around me to be themselves, too, and that is a beautiful thing. My work is very original because of this, and that is what sets me apart.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Feeling like I own my TIME is huge. Filling that time with CREATION is the ultimate gift. I get to do what I came here to do. That in itself is incredibly rewarding! I’ve had this passion in my chest since I was very young. I’ve felt called to create my entire life & through the journey of self discovery I’ve landed here. Photography & Filmmaking. I am a story teller & a time traveller. What an incredible path! I am forever grateful & the entire process of transmuting these visions into something tangible IS the reward.
