We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Annette A. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Annette , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

I went on maternity leave and never returned to my 9 to 5. It was no longer meant for me. My whole life had shifted as a new parent and it was time for my work environment to shift too. This pushed me to find alternatives and take social media seriously. Though I had done Brand Ambassador work in past, I never had it in me to leave the security of working a standard full time job. I should’ve done it sooner! Getting to fuel my soul while making money has been one of greatest blessings. As my network continues to grow so do the opportunities and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hi, I’m Annette, latina brand ambassador and content creator in the valley of the sun. I moved to Arizona at 7 years old and have loved since. I began to do Brand Ambassador work through modeling gigs and the rave community. I got to represent one of largest EDM companies at EDC in 2018. Now, I mostly represent your fave alcohol brands! Content creating started off as a hobby and has slowly developed into more. Thanks to Pollyn and Localbuzz! I thrive off of covering AZ finds and foods.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish I knew about Trusted Herd earlier on. It has been a huge help in connecting with companies in search of brand ambassadors. It’s like the indeed of marketing!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

The goal is to feed creativity while generating income. I’ve come to realize how much I love marketing and refuse to settle for a traditional job now.
