We were lucky to catch up with Anne Uemura recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
For most of my life, I walked the safe path — consistently and unconsciously conforming to what the world told me would bring “success.”
I leaned heavily on my intellect. It served me well: I earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy and spent a decade teaching at the college level. I loved using the Socratic method with my students — asking questions that revealed deeper truths.
But eventually, the questions turned inward.
That inner inquiry led me to earn a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and begin a long career as a psychologist turned transformational life coach. Still, I walked the safe path — guided more by reason than by the whispers of my soul.
Then, ten years ago, something unexpected happened.
I sat down to write. Pen in hand, a voice broke through the noise of my intellect. It said, *“Listen to the cries of your heart.”*
That phrase stopped me cold. It felt like a trance. And I listened.
That moment changed everything.
It began my heart’s healing — something I hadn’t known I needed. It drew me to the deep, tender work of inner child healing, and led me to MAP (Make Anything Possible), a method that gently and powerfully rewires the subconscious mind.
Now, I help others free themselves from the old trauma scripts — those inner beliefs and patterns designed for survival, not thriving.
Because true healing begins not with fixing the mind, but with honoring the cries of the heart.

Anne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For much of my life, I followed the path I thought I *should* — the one that promised safety, respect, and success. I studied Philosophy, earned a Master’s degree, and taught at the college level for over a decade. Then I shifted into Psychology, earning a Ph.D. and working for many years as a clinical psychologist and life coach.
But something was missing.
Ten years ago, that quiet ache became a turning point. I heard an inner voice say: *“Listen to the cries of your heart.”*
That message, unexpected and undeniable, awakened a new path — one not led by the intellect, but by the heart’s truth.
Today, I’m a transformational life coach and inner child healing specialist. I work with successful yet unfulfilled spiritual professionals who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from their purpose. Most have mastered self-reliance, people-pleasing, or perfectionism — survival patterns formed in childhood wounds. These patterns help them achieve, but not *thrive.*
Through my signature Emotional Reset, Inner Child Healing and Self-Love Path courses, I guide clients to uncover the root of their emotional pain, listen to their heart’s guidance, and reprogram limiting beliefs using subconscious healing methods, including MAP (“Make Anything Possible”). My work is spiritual, trauma-informed, and deeply compassionate.
What sets my work apart is this: I don’t help clients “fix” themselves — I help them *remember* who they truly are. I help them come home to their essence — to the love, innocence, and gifts they’ve always carried.
What I’m most proud of is witnessing the moment when a client finally hears their inner child… and listens. When they reclaim their voice, honor their needs, and begin to live with clarity, balance, and purpose — not from fear, but from love.
If you’re reading this and wondering whether healing is possible — whether joy, peace, and purpose are still available to you — I want you to know: they are.
You don’t need to push harder. You need to come closer.
To your heart. Your truth. Your wholeness.
That’s the path I walk with others. And I’d be honored to walk it with you.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One resource that has profoundly impacted my entrepreneurial journey is my current training in **Sage Lavine’s Women Rocking Business program**. I’m about halfway through this yearlong experience, and it has already shifted how I approach my work, visibility, and leadership.
Sage’s mission is to train, support, and inspire women entrepreneurs across the globe. The program brings together women from diverse fields — all with deep expertise — and provides the structure, tools, and community needed to step confidently into service and visibility.
The support is incredibly robust. There’s a vast library of trainings, documents, and templates; live sessions at least twice a week; and both group coaching and a private Facebook group where we share our banners, program descriptions, and challenges. We receive real-time feedback and encouragement as we grow.
But what truly sets it apart is the **sisterhood** — hundreds of women walking this path together. There’s generosity, celebration, and a deep commitment to helping one another rise.
Sage also leads with heart, running philanthropic programs that uplift girls and women in under-resourced areas around the world.
This program has not only given me practical tools — it’s helped me evolve into a more aligned, inspired version of myself as a conscious spiritual entrepreneur.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most important resource for success in my field is the depth of personal transformation I’ve achieved. While book learning and training provide essential foundations, they merely serve as training wheels. Anyone can share information from their brain—millions do this. What truly sets practitioners apart is having walked the transformation path themselves, giving them an authentic map of the terrain to guide clients through. Additionally, engaging intuition and leading with compassion creates a connection that brings both safety and sacredness to the process. This lived experience allows me to recognize landmarks, anticipate challenges, and offer genuine support that theoretical knowledge alone cannot provide.
