We were lucky to catch up with Anne Marie Ring recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anne Marie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At Old Glory Bank, our mission is rooted in the U.S. Constitution. We believe in restoring three core values to banking: Privacy, Security, and Liberty.
We are a bank “for all of America. For all Americans.”
We are committed to refusing cancel-culture and political discrimination. We will not close accounts or punish law-abiding Americans for their beliefs, professions, or lawful expression.
We support faith, family, first responders, law enforcement, military, respect for the flag, freedom of speech — traditional values we believe are central to American identity.
Here’s why we do what we do. This is what drove us to create Old Glory Bank, and what keeps us going:
Protecting financial freedom in a changing environment
We saw real instances where law-abiding Americans had their banking services restricted or accounts closed, not for illegal acts, but for beliefs, or for things they said or did that offended others or the political establishment. That raised an urgent question: who protects your rights when your bank decides you don’t agree with them? We decided to build a bank that protects those rights.
Privacy as a fundamental right
As more pressure arises (public and governmental) for access to personal data, financial transactions, beliefs, and speech, we believe banks shouldn’t be complicit in becoming tools of surveillance or punishment. Americans deserve financial privacy.
Responding to real need
Many potential customers felt unwelcome at other banks: fearing cancellation, fearing discrimination for their values, politicized attacks, or that expressing certain beliefs could cost them accounts, services, or privacy. We believe that every law-abiding American should be able to participate in banking without those risks.
Upholding a tradition
Our roots go back to First State Bank of Elmore City, chartered in 1908 as the first chartered bank in Oklahoma. We have a long heritage of serving communities, of respecting individual liberties, and of responsibility. We felt compelled to build on that foundation, not abandon it.
Building trust by doing, not just saying
We don’t just talk about values; we’ve put them into practice through products and policies:
“Old Glory Protect” is a free line-of-duty death benefit for military, first responders, and Protectors.
“Old Glory Alliance” is our crowd-funding platform where we promise to never cancel a fundraiser for political purposes, and we significantly reduce our fees compared to other platforms.
No political litmus tests for customers.
Providing services and technology that protect customers’ data, reduce exposure to political or ideological pressure

Anne Marie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
When you first hear the name Old Glory Bank, it already says something about who we are. We’re not just a bank – we’re a symbol of something larger: America itself. And while our name may sound new, our story stretches back more than a century. Our charter was first granted in 1908 in the small town of Elmore City, Oklahoma, where neighbors trusted their local bank to safeguard their hard-earned money. That trust, forged in a one-stoplight town, has grown into the foundation of a bank built for an entire nation.
Our journey into the modern financial world wasn’t born out of convenience. It was born out of necessity. Too many Americans had begun to experience something they never expected from their banks. Judgment, exclusion, even outright cancellation. None of this happened because of their financial standing, but because of who they were or what they believed. We saw hardworking, law-abiding people turned away simply for living in a way that didn’t line up with someone else’s politics. That was the breaking point. That’s when we decided to take a stand and create a different kind of bank. One that still does all the things a bank should, but does them with a promise: your liberty and privacy will always come first.
Today, Old Glory Bank serves customers in every corner of America. Our digital platform means you can open an account, deposit checks, pay bills, and run your business from the palm of your hand. But unlike some online-only fintech companies, we’re the real deal. We are a fully FDIC-insured bank with the experience and stability of more than 100 years behind us. Whether it’s a family looking for a simple checking account, a small business owner building their dream, or a first responder who deserves special recognition and support, we offer products designed to meet everyday needs with extraordinary care.
What sets us apart is not just our technology or our history, but the conviction behind them. We believe banking should never be weaponized. We believe your financial life should be private, secure, and respected. And we believe in celebrating — not censoring — the values that built this country. Those convictions guide everything we do, from how we design our services to how we treat our customers.
If you ask us what we’re most proud of, it’s not a product feature it’s the fact that so many Americans already see Old Glory Bank as their home for financial freedom. They know when they bank with us, they’re not just opening an account; they’re joining a movement. A movement to keep America’s promise of liberty alive in one of the most important places of all – their bank.
So, for those just meeting us: Old Glory Bank is more than a financial institution. We are America’s Bank for All Americans. We are where your values, your hard work, and your freedom are not only welcomed, but defended.
Any advice for managing a team?
At Old Glory Bank, we are very proud of the culture we have built as our team has grown to 90 people across 26 states, in addition to our in-person employees in Oklahoma. Leading a team that is mostly remote means we cannot leave connection to chance. We have to be intentional about it.
One of the most effective practices for us is requiring cameras to be on during video calls. It is a simple habit, but it makes every interaction more personal. We see our colleagues as people, not just as voices, and that helps build trust and accountability.
We also place a lot of value on shared rhythm. Every two weeks, our CEO hosts an all-hands meeting. These meetings keep everyone aligned and gives our team the opportunity to hear directly from leadership about our progress and direction. That consistency is key to making sure everyone feels included and part of something larger.
Celebration is just as important as communication. We make a point to acknowledge both big wins and small accomplishments. Recognizing teammates when they go above and beyond, or when a team comes together to solve a challenge, reinforces the idea that every contribution matters.
Our advice for maintaining high morale is simple: be deliberate about connection, be consistent with communication, and be generous with recognition. These principles keep our team engaged, motivated, and united no matter where they are located.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When people ask how we funded Old Glory Bank, we always point back to something simple but essential: integrity. Our CEO, Mike Ring, had practiced law and done business for more than 30 years before we launched the bank. Over those decades, he built relationships the right way. People knew him for his honesty, his consistency, and his ability to deliver on what he promised. When it came time to raise capital, those long-term friends and colleagues became our first investors. We like to call them our “OG” OGB Investors.
The lesson we share with anyone starting out is this: build your reputation before you build your pitch. Do business with integrity, even in the small things, because people will always remember how you treated them. You will be known by your fruits. When others see that you are steady, trustworthy, and aligned with your values, they will want to stand with you when it matters most.
Money is important, but character is the real capital. If you focus on doing right by people over the long haul, you will be surprised at how quickly the right partners and investors will rally around your vision when the time comes.
