We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anne Cormier a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?
One of the most meaningful client journeys I’ve ever been a part of is Harry and Jane’s. In their sixties, they had spent over 30 years renting — always dreaming of owning a home, but never truly believing it could happen.
I met Jane a decade ago when we worked together in the medical field. Even after I transitioned into real estate, we stayed in touch. Two years ago, she reached out. She and her husband Harry were finally ready to take the leap into homeownership.
Their first attempt at a loan didn’t go as hoped. They were denied due to low credit and limited income. I remember the disappointment in Jane’s voice — but I also knew this wasn’t the end of their story. We regrouped and built a plan: improve their credit, manage debt, and strengthen their finances. It would take time, discipline, and faith.
A year later, they were pre-approved. Jane called me in tears — this time, happy ones. But we had a new challenge: their landlord had just doubled their rent, and they had only two months to find a home.
We hit the ground running. After three intense weeks of searching, we found the one. When they walked in, their faces said it all — it was more than a house. It was home.
On closing day, I saw something in their eyes I’ll never forget — pride, peace, and pure joy. After decades of renting, they finally had a place to call their own.
This wasn’t just a transaction. It was the fulfillment of a dream that had lived in their hearts for over 30 years. And it reminded me why I do this work: because home changes everything.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Anne Cormier — a full-time real estate professional serving Southwest Florida. I assist individuals in turning the dream of homeownership into reality, with a particular focus on first-time buyers who may have believed it was out of reach. For me, real estate is not just a profession — it’s a calling.
Before transitioning into real estate, I worked in the healthcare field. While I valued the opportunity to help others, I sought greater independence and a different kind of impact. Over six years ago, I made the leap into real estate, and it has since evolved into a purpose-driven business grounded in trust, advocacy, and heart.
I offer comprehensive residential real estate services, including buying, selling, investment opportunities, new construction, and representation of international clients. Additionally, I work with property owners of vacant land, expired listings, and FSBOs, bringing a fresh, strategic approach to these often-overlooked segments. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is assisting clients who feel stuck or discouraged — I’m the Realtor who rolls up her sleeves, gets creative, and stays committed.
What distinguishes me is straightforward: I genuinely care. My role extends far beyond unlocking doors — I aim to guide, educate, advocate, and celebrate with my clients. Being fluent in Haitian Creole allows me to support and empower members of my community who might otherwise feel overwhelmed by the real estate process. I’m also actively involved in local leadership through Realtor associations, chambers of commerce, and community boards.
One of my proudest accomplishments is helping clients like Harry and Jane — who rented for more than 30 years — finally receive the keys to a home they can call their own.
Ultimately, my mission goes beyond transactions. I am here to serve. Your goals are my goals. And when we work together, you’re not just hiring a Realtor — you’re gaining a dedicated partner who will advocate for you and celebrate with you every step of the way.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There was a moment several years ago when I found myself at a professional crossroads. I was working in the medical field, a career I chose because I’ve always had a heart for helping people. But over time, I realized something was missing. I loved making a difference, but I started to crave more autonomy, more flexibility, and a new kind of impact — one that allowed me to build deeper, long-term relationships and help people in a different way.
The turning point came during a conversation with a friend who had just purchased their first home. I watched their eyes light up as they described the sense of stability and pride they felt. That was when it clicked: homeownership could be just as life-changing as good healthcare. And maybe, just maybe, I could help people on that journey too.
Leaving a stable, respected role in healthcare wasn’t easy. It meant starting over. It meant risking failure. But it also meant following a calling I could no longer ignore. I got licensed, leaned into learning, and started from the ground up in real estate. That leap — from a field focused on physical well-being to one centered on financial and emotional stability — has been one of the most meaningful decisions I’ve ever made.
Six years later, I can confidently say the pivot wasn’t just a career change — it was a life shift. Today, I get to serve people in some of the most important moments of their lives. I haven’t looked back since.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My journey into real estate wasn’t just a career change — it was the continuation of a much bigger story of resilience.
I moved to the U.S. from Haiti not knowing the language, the culture, or what my future would hold. Every day came with a new challenge — learning English, adjusting to a new way of life, and figuring out how to find my place in an unfamiliar world. But giving up was never an option. I pushed through, one word at a time, one step at a time — driven by the belief that I was meant for something bigger.
I eventually found my footing in the medical field, where I spent years helping people. But deep down, I wanted more — more autonomy, more growth, and a different kind of impact. That’s when I took a leap into real estate.
The beginning was rough. I had no book of business, no steady income, and no blueprint. I knocked on doors, made cold calls, went to every event I could find, and still had moments where I doubted everything. There were weeks I didn’t close a deal. But I kept showing up. I remembered what it felt like to start from scratch — because I’d done it before when I arrived in this country.
One breakthrough moment came when I helped a couple who had rented for over 30 years finally buy their first home. They had been told “no” so many times, they almost gave up. But I walked them through the process, step by step, just like I had to learn so many things myself. On closing day, as I handed them the keys, I realized: this is why I’m here. Not just to sell homes, but to open doors — literally and figuratively — for people who’ve been told they can’t.
Since then, I’ve built a career based on heart, grit, and advocacy. I’ve weathered market shifts, tough deals, and personal setbacks. But through it all, one thing has remained true: resilience is in my DNA. And when you work with me, you’re getting more than a Realtor — you’re getting a partner who understands what it means to start from nothing and fight for something.
