We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anne, thanks for joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
My children designed the sticker after their dad passed away with a Lobster representing their Dads occupation as a fisherman and the Blue Ribbon representing Colorectal Cancer intertwined around the lobster.
They came up with the name TestForToby so we could raise Colorectal Cancer Awareness while honouring their dad.
The sticker started out just being passed to friends & family to put on their vehicles but has really took off. People have taken it on vacations all over the world and have posted it everywhere.
It really stands for something!! Colorectal Cancer Awareness is so important to spread!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We use Instagram to help spread the message of Colorectal Cancer Awareness. The symptoms so that people can be aware. Colorectal Cancer is treatable and beatable if caught early. It is the second deadliest cancer in the world and one of the least talked about because it’s uncomfortable.
#TestForToby is aiming to get the message out there! And talk more about it. Spread the message through the sticker.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The year after my husband passed away we decided to run in his honour through Colon Canada and raise money through a run called Push For Your Tush. It was Covid so it had to be done virtually but was so successful we did it again the next year. Year 3 it had grown so much we had to hold it in a new venue and now we just had our 6th year of the run and it was the most successful yet. Raising over $37,000
How’d you meet your business partner?
I wouldn’t call it business partners but my children and family are a huge support system for the run every year.
