We were lucky to catch up with Annalis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Annalis , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
A risk that I have taken for my career is moving to whole entire new state. When I left my hometown to pursue my career as a model, it really took a toll on me mentally, and physically. I became very depressed, because I was leaving all my friends, and my family behind me. I thought to myself that I wasn’t gonna be able to make any new friends, and as though I do have family down here which is only one person it just hurts because I felt like I didn’t have anyone. When you shift your current living situations, and go into new living situations such as moving with new people/ house/apartment it’s really hard, especially if you have been living with someone prior for years and years it really affects you a lot. At the end of the day I knew that this was the best thing to do for myself. I’ve just been surrounded by multiple different people in my life that are toxic, and manipulative including friends, and family. I had to escape myself from that, and that’s what I did. I needed a fresh start. Till this day I do look back to all things that did happen to me in my hometown, and I don’t regret any of the things that happened to me because at the end of the day if these things didn’t happen to me I wouldn’t have became this strong person that I am today, and I wouldn’t be where I am at now. So I am extremely grateful for everything and opportunities that I have had in my life. I hope to continue to keep on inspiring others to follow their dreams !!!!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hi my name is Annalis. I am a Fashion & Beauty Model / Content Creator. I got into this industry about a year and a half ago, I moved from Erie, Pennsylvania to Atlanta, Georgia. My sister Carlisa Lynn helped me getting into modeling, and myself. The services that I provide is modeling and content. I am a very creative individual and I like all my content and photoshoots to have a meaning or story behind them. I feel like what sets me besides my fellow peers is that I am a realistic and personal person. I like to share my story with others to inspire individuals. I like to show what things actually are happening closed doors especially modeling. The thing that I am most proud of myself is my growth these last couple of years, I just keep on amazing myself on all the things I do, and opportunities that I have received. What I want my followers/fans to know about me is that I will always tell things how they are, and I always keep it real and just be myself.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
So the story of how I built my audience on social media was staying consistent, and through the modeling industry. Staying consistent is the number one key to have any successful platform on social media. You just have to keep on posting your content, such as reels, posts, on your stories, etc. By being not consistent on your social media you could be at risk to not really gaining on any of your platforms, so by staying consistent on all your platforms you will have an higher chance to gain an actually audience. I also have gain my audience from the modeling industry. I have met so many creative individuals here in Atlanta. That’s also how I gain my audience by networking with other individuals that are in my industry. So that’s a little bit of advice that I can give you on how to start building your social media presence.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson that I had to unlearn is it matters what people think of me. I always throughout my whole entire life tried to be a people pleaser because I’m just such a genuine individual. I just was so nice to everyone in my schools but I did end up getting bullied in my high school just because I wanted to be a model so bad, I can remember when the girls in my school would just sit their at lunch laughing at my photos because I just wanted to get into modeling so bad . I just learned to stop caring what others say about me, and who likes me or not because at the end of the day your gonna have haters no matter what regardless what you say or do so why not do what you truly love to do . That has definitely affect me a lot through the years, on what people say about especially in this industry it will most likely take a toll on you because it is a hard industry to get into, and you have to face a lot of rejection, so you will have to be bold, and confident with in yourself to face it and to understand that even someone may not like you such as a brand, agency, model, artist, etc. someone else will so just see it as that from my perspective. Just be yourself, be unique, be different who cares who says what about you as long as you are just being you, and happy that’s all that matters.
