We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anna Tsui a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Anna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.

Many people talk about genius but very few people understand what genius really is. The industry standard is to attribute genius based on IQ, but this is just a small fraction of an individual’s actual potential.

What if we took into account someone’s emotional, physical, psychic and energetic attributes?

I have developed a process that helps people actually connect and align with their unique genius and apply it consciously to their lives.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

After decades of working in leadership development, I’ve discovered the most effective and productive success hack is learning how to work in alignment with your personal energetic flow.

This leads to the big question: How do I discover the unique way that I’m meant to show up in the world?

I’m a serial entrepreneur and obsessive problem solver. This is probably why I started two international businesses–because when I lived in different countries, I inevitably found so many problems to solve!

However, I was always searching for a deeper understanding of myself and my unique gifts to the world. Ironically, the more I tried to learn about psychology and worked with coaches and mentors to identify this aspect of myself–the more it eluded me.

It was incredibly frustrating!

Eventually I cut myself off from most external feedback and went within. One day, something “clicked” when I was asking myself a series of seemingly random questions.

For the first time, I felt 100% myself. And I could see how I had been living my life based on a completely different set of values and expectations.

This is what ultimately led me to develop my process that has helped hundreds of people connect to their true innate genius.

It’s not real until it is felt and that’s why The Genius Method is so valuable, because it takes you on a journey into yourself that you never forget and can use in your everyday life.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I listen very carefully to my clients and make adjustments to adapt to their personal situations. I don’t put templates and protocols before actual human connection and the results speak for themselves. Even in group settings, I focus on one person at a time and this allows for deep work that others in the group benefit from. Most of my clients are happy to refer, leave honest testimonials and also come back to next-level work in the future.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

There are many copycats in my industry. I’ve seen other coaches or marketers repurpose and copy my ideas without offering any credit or acknowledgment.

I often get asked how business owners can handle the situation where their competition is infringing on their intellectual property.

The answer is to double down on your emotional connection to your clients and followers. People will forget ideas and concepts but they will always remember how you make them feel and how your work makes them feel.

None of the people who copied me had much depth to offer on the topic of genius and many of them have stopped talking about it because there was in fact little they could add to the space. However, I’ve continued to develop the work and also develop a clientele who deeply understands and appreciates my impact on them and on the space.
