We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anna Russo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anna below.
Hi Anna, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is defined differently for each individual. Many people associate success with being financially wealthy. Of course that’s important but for me, success means having a skill, talent, or gift that allows me to help others, and feeling genuinely happy and fulfilled while doing so. True success is also reflected when you no longer need to actively promote your business because satisfied customers are now coming to you through strong word-of-mouth.
Anna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My background is in the beauty industry. I have been a multi-award-winning hair and makeup artist for over 16 years. Teaching internationally at renowned academies, serving as a jury member at several award shows, writing for major beauty magazines, and working on film and photo productions across Europe and the USA have given me a wealth of experience and confidence.
Ten years ago, I also began actively working in front of the camera as a model and actress, which has not only benefited me in the entertainment industry but also greatly contributed to my personal growth journey.
Drawing from all of my experiences and learnings, I have created coaching programs designed to help others overcome their doubts, fears, and insecurities, enabling them to live life to the fullest and realize their full potential. There’s no room for ‘I wish I could’ or ‘I’m not qualified enough for that.’ Instead, we delve into the core issues and build you up to shine as your best and most authentic self, helping you thrive in every aspect of your life.
And living off of a purpose driven business
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I used to believe there was a secret formula for social media success. I’d observe other businesses and creators, attempting to replicate their strategies. But the more I did that, the more exhausted I became. Trying to emulate someone else’s success not only created immense pressure but also led me away from my true self.
In today’s fast-paced world where algorithms constantly change, authenticity is paramount. Remember our childhoods, when we embraced creativity without limits or self-doubt? That’s the mindset I now bring to social media.
Embracing authenticity has been transformative for me. By being true to myself, I connect with my audience as the real Anna. Authenticity is the key to achieving the success you desire. It’s about building trust. Once your audience trusts that you’re genuine and not just selling something in every post, they’ll enjoy visiting your page and supporting you.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being authentic, transparent, and honest—not only with my customers but also with myself—has significantly helped me build a strong reputation in the market. Sometimes, we may feel uncomfortable admitting certain shortcomings in front of our audience. However, being upfront and honest about it with clients helps them see that there’s nothing to hide. It reassures them that they’re in good hands, knowing they haven’t been sold an illusion that later turns out to be disappointing.
